I used to love how Coast got involved with the ex-pats and used to have a great time when they did roadshows and the like.
What an abortion.
Such a shame most stations limit their interaction to twitter if anything these days, I used to love radio road shows in the UK but sadly they seem to be a thing of the past anywhere.
Would imagine its a power outage at the transmitter site; I believe they do (or used to) share the site.
Think it maybe more than a power outage at the site as Horizons 102.5 transmitter has been off since boxing day and Atlantis on 98.2 went blank boxing day but came back later that evening. The transmitter has totally gone off this morning.
If it is power problems I can only assume Atlantis has a backup generator which has either now given up the ghost or run out of diesel.
Atlantis on 98.2 is back on now. Horizon on 102.5 is still off, could this be the end of Horizon in West Tenerife, or is someone booked on the next easyjet flight from the UK to come over and replace the fuse in the the plug to the transmitter. Hehe.
Noticed that Ocean Radio on 106.5 is comming through very clear in San Eugenio seems to be playing non stop music, but it's a very good variety and very few adverts.

Just been listening to this and the big question is why? Yet another station being exactly like all the other stations on the island, note the names involved are mostly all former Coast fm staff from its poor days after it was sold and ruined. Surprised to see Ray Wilde on the website being involved as he was on Atlantis.
The Galaxy FM stream is now carrying continuous rock orientated music with Dutch language jingles identifying as Radio BNL 89.8FM. One mentions Tenerife. BNL could stand for Benelux? Unable to find Galaxy on-line. Is 92.1FM still on air on the island?
What an awful site, taken months to get that..just like the station, typical new owners think they can run the station better, but they have just ruined it. Big shame.

Are you on air from the UK or here?

Internet streams for both are OK.
Have also noticed that Energy FM on 92.1 is Galaxy FM which is not as up tempo as Energy and is playing a more broader variety of dance.

This Energy 92.1FM 128 kbps stream is still running but with no output. Amazingly 3 people are listening to it according to Shoutcast!

Yes it just seems to be the transmitter site which serves Costa Adele and other parts of Tenerife that are affected.
Maybe the station are not aware of the issues as I believe Horizon is run and programmed/VT totally from the UK these days.
Following Problems with our west transmitter, service has now been restored to 102.5 across the South/West Tenerife
Happy New Year from all the Horizon Team xx
So sounds like a technical glitch and the curse of "mañana, mañana!"
