Poor likkle Russell Brand a load of ball bags?

British director Michael Winterbottom is going to work with extremely wealth Russell Brand on a documentary about the global economic crash, the director said....
"It's about inequality and why the 1% [of the world's wealthy] seem to have so much and the rest of us not quite so much,"

Is the very rich Russell going to represent the wealthy 1% from his $2m property in Hollywood which is cheaper than the one he reportedly paid $6.5m for with Katy Perry.

No doubt there is a London property in affluent Plumstead he prefers to live in rather than stay at the Savoy or Dorchester when he's in town.

Yet another rant to be expected from extremely rich Brand telling us poor people how we've been ripped off by people like him?

Oh almost forgot him being listed as a director of Mayfair Film Partnership Limited (MFP).

Do you only have to be poor to be able to speak out against poverty? Russell grew up in an ordinary household, so knows the reality of how people on the other end of the spectrum live and understands their views as opposed to someone who has never been in that situation. So why shouldn't he be involved?

How is this Russell Brands fault again exactly?

His financial status is irrelevant. You don't need to be a criminal to talk about criminals.

So, your rationale for dismissing Brand as someone who has no business speaking about fair distribution of wealth is that he owns 2 properties, one in the US (where he works a lot) and one in the UK (where he works a lot).

Yes, that makes a lot of sense. ^_^

LOL. 2 million or 6.5 for that matter is NOTHING in Hollywood.

I think the OP wants Russell to commute (daily, and probably by bus) from London to LA to prove his 'man of the people' status.

Maybe he should just rent a council house in Dagenham before he is entitled to a view. He has a 12 year wait though, so in the meantime will just have to make do with the Hollywood home and the house in Plumstead. :D

Russell Brand just shouts and doesn't seem to like it when challenged. He is not intelligent but he believes he is and wants the rest of us to believe that too.

A champagne socialist who talks about David Icke :o and talks the talk to appeal to the masses.
It is so easy to call for social egalitarianism when he is sitting in his mansion :)

He is nothing more than delusional ex heroin addict who uses language to appear to be more intelligent than he is, and his comedy (and I use that term loosely) is a blatant breach of the trade descriptions act.

What's the subject of the film? How does Russell Brand think he came wealthy other than exploiting the other 99% through higher food bills to pay for his TV appearances.

Does he really need a multi-million dollar mansion to be a comedian.

Does he have a business manager who said one of Brand was a director of company that was like Ingenious Media?

Did Brand buy a multi million property through a trust run by his U.S. business manager Lester Knispel, who has among his clients Kim Kardashian and who Shaquille O’Neal described as a, "tax genius".

I'm sure Mr Brand pays his taxes.

It's bit rich now that Brand has his millions to tell others they are to blame that its wrong and there should be more equality, maybe the peasants should invade his property and take ownership.

That's the whole point his facade now is to paint himself as a man of the people, I'm sure Jemima Khan felt like her he was one of the down trodden 99%.

I think russell is very funny and he's obviously a smart guy. i don't know much about politics so perhaps a lot of what he says is idealistic but he does seem genuinely interested and i like him :kitty:

What a load of claptrap . Comedy is subjective so i appreciate that you do not like or get it but the rest of this is Rubbish .
Only need to watch his youtube videos to see he is extremely intelligent
Why is it that people who do not like certain celebs have to make up stuff about them that clearly is not true .

    1. He is an ex heroin addict and that is FACT - so how exactly is that statement claptrap?

    2. Just because Brand uses ostentatious, pretentious, highfaluting, extravagant & grandiose words in his 'comedy' does not make him intelligent, it merely shows he owns a Thesaurus.

    3. He is in the same clique as Stephen Fry & Richard Osman, People assume Fry is intelligent because he reads a teleprompter on QI and Richard Osman because he uses Google on Pointless
    :D

If you are somehow impressed by the use of language and find this entertaining & comedy gold, enjoy it.
But do not state what I have posted as 'claptrap', Brand WAS a heroin junkie and has even talked about it himself!

    Absolutely.

But does that mean he is now a useless human being? What relevance does it have?

Do you have to be poor to speak out against poverty?

    Eh?

I can't remember the exact quote but its something like...

If you are poor and speak out against poverty, then you are just jealous because you couldn't be bothered to 'apply' yourself to earn lots of money, and if you have money and speak out against poverty you are a hypocrite.

So basically you can't win either way!

Tickets priced between £69.00 to £220.00 his way of getting money from the wealthy 1% or are they bought by the very people he claims to be concerned about?

With those ticket prices making him part of the 1% with all the wealth, it shows his concern is a sham. It's a bit like those preachers of wealth who for £500 tell people how they can be wealthy like them.

Angelina Jolie's net worth is estimated to be £270 million pounds but I don't see you starting whiney threads about her and the work she does for the UN and the various charities she supports as well.

If you dislike Russell on a personal level fair enough, that's your right, but at least bitch about him on that level if you're going to. don't try to twist something around to fit your agenda as it just makes you look a bit silly.

The, uh... the laptop isn't even switched on... it's just a prop.

Other than that, yeah, that is completely factual. Aside from the fact that what you have described is not a clique. Oh, and also that's not why people assume Stephen Fry is intelligent. Or why people assume Richard Osman is intelligent.

But apart from all that, not a single thing you said was claptrap.
