Every time a new season of American shows start, I watch the trailers on You tube and decide if I am going to start to watch them.
Normally by the end of the first few epsiodes I have given up on a few. What new shows have you given up on this fall?
For me so far it is.
Gotham
Scorpion
NCIS New Orleans
Legends
Stalker

going to try dominion next week but don't have huge hopes for that after two years of "angel warfare" on supernatural.
sticking with Gotham for now, but i could go either way with that one.
I always look to Agents of Shield though as that started off pretty slowly and got worse, but i stuck with it and it ended up being really very good.
NCis New Orleans
Dominion
Absolutely loving scorpion
Flash I'm enjoying but hoping it becomes more
Gotham is ok but I am not overly invested same with Stalker
If you're up for it I'd suggest you give it another shot, at least until you've seen ep6 - though no skipping the missed ones, cos that'd be cheating.
I was set to give it up after ~ep3, but with ep6 they kicked it outta the park. Still nowhere near TWD but ep6 was a definite .
The one that is in danger of being dropped is NCIS NO. Love Scott Bakula but I cringe every time Jazz is played, I loathe it, and the theme music is awful.
Close to dropping Forever, very similar to other shows like Elementary but not as good.
Hmmm... maybe. I have just got back from a 2 week holiday so I have a massive catch up session to do over the next few days so I'll add it to the list - but it will be right at the bottom. I wasn't expecting it to be another TWD, but I thought ep1 was interesting in a crappy B Movie way though eps 2 and 3 were just rubbish.
Forever
Scorpion
The Flash
Constantine
Seriously ?! - You do know the ptb are making big changes to the series for ep2 onwards, right ?! So maybe all the "this sucks" bits will be gone.
Yes, I have read about that. But it is still going to be a show about the central character, Constantine (obviously). I watched the pilot knowing that any interest I had in watching the show beyond the pilot depended on me finding Constantine interesting, and it didn't work out.:D
Frankly, I am not sure that I would even consider it "dropping" a show when you just check out something new and don't like what you see so don't continue. But other people were listing shows that just started, so "When in Rome...";-)
The Leftovers
Selfie
Gotham is on the edge with ep.3 coming on Monday, but I've been loving Scorpion, didn't try Stalker though
Forever is still hanging on. It's not brilliant but it's fairly easy watching.
I did finish The Leftovers and while it varied between brilliant and confusing, I found the finale to be very underwhelming and I didn't even realise it was the last episode of the season until the week after. I'm pleased it has been renewed.
I couldn't even make it to the end of the Selfie trailer.
I haven't got around to Scorpion yet.
Well, clearly there has to be interest to even bother watching a certain pilot. There are plenty of new shows that I ignore completely. I was quite disappointed by the first episode of The Leftovers but I continued with it anyway, because however bad the execution of the first episode was, I really liked the premise of the show, which is quite unique in the history of TV (and The Leftovers ended up being utterly brilliant, despite the rough start). In the case of Constantine, I wanted to watch the pilot because I generally like shows about the supernatural, but battling supernatural evil is an idea that has been done to death, so if I was going to commit to Constantine the series I knew that I had to want to watch Constantine the character. Now that I have seen one episode of Constantine, I know that I don't care what Constantine the character does next, or what happens to him, so for me there is no point continuing with the show.
I hear ya . The word "Dropping" does kinda imply you had it in your hands for a time (watched a number of eps) then let go" rather than simply poking it with a finger (just tried the pilot). And if Constantine doesn't click with you then no amount of tweaking to the surrounding characters will improve the show for you if they're leaving the main character alone. Personally I loved MrC right away so I guess I'm typing this from Rome. - Although maybe with the new direction the show will put Constantine into those situations you DO find interesting. :ha:
For me NCISNO was dead from the outset as I remember the Female Agent from an old Donald Sutherland(?) series called something like Money Money Money where she played a Lawyer's wife. What creeped me out no end was they had the same haircut.
I guess if I stop watching Stalker THAT will be me Dropping a show cos I've given it quite a few eps even though the pilot didn't wow me. I wanted to like it, really wanted to like it cos MsNikita is staring and starring but it ain't growing on me, darn it.
Next pilot season I'll wait a couple of weeks for them all to be out + a few eps then start a thread listing all the new shows so people can do the "tried, hated" / "loving" / "sucked donkey balls" commenting for each one. QED.
The Intruders - Watched 3 ep's & have the other ep's as well but again just found it very boring.
Once Upon A Time - Only thing that kept me watching it was Robert Carlyle & Lana Parilla (slight crush) but as each season went on it just got worse & Carlyle just looks bored in it.
Black Sails - Looked amazing but found it too slow & plodding.
From Dusk Till Dawn - The first movie was always a fav but the TV show was ll over the place.
The knick (too gruesome for my taste)
Forever (narration got annoying)
Leftovers is still on the edge after 5 EPs but I think its more likely to stay.
Gave up on Gotham after the opening sequence - just knew how it would pan out. Same old, same old.
It does get better but takes a fair few eps it is kind of middle of the range though
I think it all depends on what type of storytelling you like.
