Some here must have been watching a different programme, I certainly found it funny. It might not be the American style with carefully scripted gags every minute that some prefer but I can't stand that type of programme.

as someone else pointed out it tends to feel like a series of one liners linked together with the 'plot' as oppose to flowing. and the gags with the friend who's a bit slow on the uptake are wearing thin. mind you, i still watch it!

    When is the Pointless one?

Yes, this pointless* show seems to have been trailed a lot for at least 2 weeks now, around 5.59pm? presumably to push ratings. Has it been held or pulled for some reason?

    * could be with or without quotation marks !

Have to agree was a far-fetched struggle last night. I will miss it but last night was supping the wood never mind scraping the barrel. Guessing theres no way Tim Vine will return now. Grim reaper where are you.

She was pregnant between series a couple of years ago.

She started filming the following series not long after!

Is she married in real life as you dont see interviews with her?

And just to quote myself, the synopsis for the next episode involves Lucy wanting to have a baby.

    Hmmm.

Huge fan of this show, Love the one liners and did laugh at last nights

I think the problem was it was a thin plot! You could see what would happen all the way through and it needed to almost change plot midway and catch you off guard

I spent the whole episode thinking there would be a twist because it was too easy to guess

I didn't think last night's episode was as funny as usual, but I still enjoyed it. I wish Tim Vine would return, the show really needs him, and I'd love to see Miranda Hart back as Barbara. It was the relationship between Lee and Tim that made the show for me, not the Lee/Lucy thing. The best episodes were the ones where most of the plot centred around Tim and Lee: the drugs one, the Lee winning the writing competition one, the porn film one, the old lady one, and others. Lee and Lucy all the time is just too much, and Daisy without Tim is still funny but it feels more forced as though she has to have more to say to make up for Tim's absence.

It really was the Tim and Lee show for me, and now that's gone. Don't get me wrong, I still like it and I think Lee Mack is a comic genius, but I can only take so much Lucy and I prefer Daisy to be a supporting character rather than a main one.

Daisy replaced Barbara as the nice but dim one. Lucy replaced Kate as the unrequited love interest. Unfortunately Tim and Lee are both irreplaceable and with one gone, it's not the same and a replacement wouldn't work because their long standing friendship was the reason Tim let Lee stay in the flat anyway. Now Tim's buggered off the Germany and left Daisy behind, frankly I am amazed Daisy is still around. She hasn't mentioned going to visit him, not even in passing, for a long time now. What ex left behind for a job opportunity abroad is really going to stay friends with their ex's sister and her lodger/the ex's best friend? I realise she's meant to be dim but surely she'd have other friends/start dating again rather than hang around people that remind her of being dumped.

Yes, Daisy seems like something of a spare part these days. I like her character, but only in small doses. As for Lucy, I get a bid fed up with her jibes at Lee, and it feels like she doesn't really have much of a personalty of her own. As you say, both Lee and Tim are irreplaceable and the show doesn't work as well once one of them has gone. I still enjoy the show, just not as much as when Tim was in it.

Just watched this and found it very annoying. Agree it's the worst edition of them all. Hopefully it's back on track next week.

My guess is it will be a one-off special for Children in Need on Friday 14th November and not part of the main series at all.

The last episode was ridiculous. Was it amusing, I'm not sure.

Checking the facts always trumps guessing.

Richard Osman did say on twitter that it would be shown in November and I think it is a normal programme as no mention of it being for CIN :)

The storyline was painfully contrived, the new characters were 2-dimensional (although Hugh Dennis's character does have potential), the speech patterns were copped straight from American sitcoms where everyone seems to speak in one-liners.... but.... it stil made me laugh.
I hate it when I over-analyze stuff that makes me laugh, but, well, there ya go.

I only catch this on Dave every now and then, and really enjoy it when I do, but I don't follow it on BBC, so the story-lines have little relevance, the jokes however are almost always a hit with me.

The only reason I don't follow it on BBC is that I have to timeshift everything I watch and there's enough of that already

Tim Vine leaving was a great loss, he made the show even better, but it's still a great sitcom IMO.
