Cant provide a link as its behind a paywall but apparently show research has shown that after coming back for a 6 month trial Liz has proved to be immensely popular.

Basically it seems that Bev can stay as long as she wants-They wanna ensure shes a street legend.

    They are, but the 'elite' tend to just have one unlimited, rolling contract that basic lasts forever.

    Doesn't surprise me at all, (if it's true of course.......big if). I long ago realised and embraced the fact that I am way out of sync with TGBP and can generally be relied upon to loathe and detest anything they like. Liz McMutton would be a prime example. >:(

    I'm not surprised. With so many of the long-term regulars getting older, Corrie needs to look after their stable of current established characters and Liz - love her or loathe her - has been on the show for over thirty years and has so much history with the show.

    People only like her because Stella was so bloomin awful. She needs to lay off Steve or she wont be so well "liked".

    I wonder who'd be considered the elite in Corrie?
    My guess would be the following.
    Liz and Steve.
    Ken, Deidre,Peter and Tracy.
    Carla.
    Roy.
    Rita.
    Sally.
    David and Gail.
    Leanne.

    Liz isn't as good as she was. Bullying Steve with Michelle hasn't helped. Now both Michelle and Steve are moping about for different reasons, she's more bothered about her than her own son. And then there's Tony.

    Most of the time she's embarrassing to watch. I wish they'd never brought the character back.
