CS: Is Kal Nazir the most boring character in Corrie history?
Zero chemistry with Leanne and the rest of his huge family, does anyone thing Kal works as a character??
Jimi Mistry is an experienced actor and was pretty funny in The Guru movie- but it seems the storyliners/writers don't know what to do with him or his densely-packed gym

The whole Nazir family is poorly-conceived. They should be axed.
Probably to bring in more racial variety. A lot of people on here have compared the granny one (can't remember her name) to Zainab in Eastenders, so maybe he wanted the Corrie one to be like her.
Gollum? I like Alya but she's the only one. I think because they are a large family who don't live on the street it all seems a bit odd. I've heard they're moving into the Windass house though but that can't be all of them. There isn't room.
I was going to make that exact point!
While the Nazir's are boring, Eastenders have had quite a few worse families
Zero chemistry
Zero believability
Zero chance
If a new Producer gets in at Corrie (and I hope there is) the Nazirs will be the first to go, with Kal being the only kept on with his daughter.
Political correctness gone mad
And the most unlikely infrantry sergeant/PTI ever......hardly ANY real interaction with his mucker Gary (they would be great mates)
They could get rid of the lot, and replace them with mannequins and not be noticed......
maybe keep Sharif for his interactions with Dev
Keep Alya though....(she can be friends with Steph and Katy)...........she is just damn purdy!
The Masoods were/are a one off. I don't think any soap could replicate their success.
As for the Ferreiras the characters initially had potential which is more than you can say for this lot. The Ferreiras suffered from being rushed on to the screen, as well as being given some exceptionally poor storylines. The show had a potentially interesting storyline lined up for them where the kids would murder their domineering father but before it could come to fruition the actor who played the father had problems with his visa and had to be written out of the show. They were toast from that moment onwards.
no personality no nuffink! And the Mother must
be written from the 'Citizen Khan' book of joke
stereotypes, as was Dev's Uncle Umed (remember
him?) and Sunitas two aunts who visited a few times!
Even when Gary was only over there for a fortnight?
Kal Nazir Good Bad
Sharif Nazir Bad Good
Yasmeen Nazir Bad Bad
Alya Nazir Good Good
Zeedan Nazir Good Bad
I only half agree with you Citadel!! Yes Michael is completely undynamic but I kind of get the feeling he's purposely written like that!! He is just an average bloke who hit complete rock bottom & without Gail would probably have ended up a suicide case!! Sad I know that anyone should be forced to rely on Gail as a prop, but I actually think Dennis is doing a decent job of acting the part!!
Kal on the other hand should be a dynamic character, ex army fitness instructor with an interesting back story!! Instead he is as boring, bland & beige as any character I can ever remember!! If he had more about him the rest of the family could sort of bounce off him so to speak but instead they are just a fragmented bunch of nobodies & sadly they're even dragging poor old Leanne down with them at the moment!!
You can say that again!! never, ever in the history of Corrie has there been such a boring, talentless bunch of actors pretending to be a family.
