Home Alone is a good film for just relaxing and watching it go by and enjoying the way Kevin has to keep the burglers out of his house. The sentimental stuff about him and the importance of his family goes without saying.
But for absolute classic christmas films then it has to be The Snowman, Scrooge and The Muppet Christmas Carol are the best.
Definitely Home Alone 2. I was a toddler when it came out, so I grew up with it. Even at the grand old age of 26 it still gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling!
As it's the time for goodwill and peace to all men... it's got to be Die Hard.
I'm not sure if it really counts. It was originally released in july and Christmas is rather incidental to the plot, and it gets shown on TV all year round, whereas a proper christmas film can't really be shown any other time of year.
Should have National Lampoons Christmas Vacation there.
Also love Jingle all the way, Arnie is just brilliant in it.
I voted Scrooge, the 1951 b&w version is the best version though.

Scrooged gets my vote too.
Lee Majors' greatest performance!
A Christmas Tale
But it gets a good review , perhaps I should have watched it
And considering it's not deemed a great film, I think Jingle all the way with Arnie is awesome.
Seconded.
"Oh, the weather outside is frightful..."
A Muppets Christmas Carol for me and Scrooged would also be up there. Never understood the fuss over Its a wonderful life.

Same! When I was younger I used to think Arnie as Turbo Man in the parade was one of the coolest things ever!!
