Sorry to drag up an old thread I love this one, and the fantastically creepy trailer too. I've been waiting for my account to be approved so I could add to this. I'm sure there's a clue somewhere in the trailer. There's a definite Twin Peaks kinda vibe with the Lucy Beale murder, and David Lynch used a lot of visual hints/ metaphors in his work. I don't know if anyone noticed the flycatcher going nuts in Ian's cafe scene, but flashing lights were definitely a recurring theme in Twin Peaks...
Also, no-one seems to have mentioned the worm on the end of Peter's spade as he's digging. A spider in Denise's scene, and a worm in Peter's. Is Peter unearthing a 'can of worms' perhaps? Or something else?
I was also thinking about the scene where Jane is hoovering her car. The close up of the hoover sucking up glass, is that supposed to represent coke being taken? Or, more literally, could it be the Lucy was clobbered with something made of glass? A paperweight maybe, or a heavy vase?
I initially thought the scene means nothing other than to show the whole of Albert Square in time with the "land of gods and monsters" lyric. However, if it is Lola and she's standing in the middle of Albert Square, maybe it's as simple as that. She's at the centre of everything.
However, I feel we would have had a close-up of Lola like the other characters did, if the scene at the beginning is as relevant.
Lana Del RAY!! It was that bloke who hung around with Kim!
Great thread btw.
DEL boy! Derek rose from the dead and his Zombie corpse killed Lucy! That's what Peter was digging p in the allotments. EastEnders decided to do a Zombie spin-off like Neighbours

Death could never stop such a magnificent force of nature that was Del Boy!
I've always thought it was one of the Beales. Ian or Jane. I don't really know why. Although in a soap where very few people ever seem to drive anywhere, I think there's been a load of superfluous shots of Jane's little Micra... very visible means of moving a body.
Oh my Gosh watching that back it's literally her !! :o
No need to be sarcastic.
I am not saying she went to the woods and murdered her, but maybe had a handbags at dawn fight and then forced her into the car and just dumped her off somewhere. Then later, Lucy dies from some 'accidental' head injury.
So when Ian reveals in that video, you can see Jane seems to be acting like she knew the news was coming...

That is a really good point, there have been an awful lot of shots/comments of the car.
I just hope it isn't her, mainly cause the beale children/half-siblings of beale, both mother's have died, and in case of Stephen and Cindy, their dad's didn't really want them either. Jane is nearest thing to a mum for all of them, for that reason hope it isn't.
I do think that Jane knows something, that "isn't really important" that'll come out when the list goes down to 4.

And she's not standing there alone... ;-)
"You got that medicine I need, dope shoot it up straight to the heart please." - Which we now know was Peter!!
Maybe the trailer really is riddled with clues (which I've always thought it was)
Me too.:D:D
Great thread btw.
lmao! There's a clue right there! Was staring us in the face the whole time!
Could be Derek too!
Watch the reaction of Jane
Now with hindsight, is this lack of emotion a CLUE?

Very true. Just don't ask him to run anywhere.
And how magnificent he was! So many enemies, but he ultimately died at the hands of one of his best friends. Steak and chips!:D:D:D

Lol.
He reminded me of Michael Winner in the esure ads when he did that.
Joking aside - I now strongly believe Jane has a yet-to-be-learnt secret that connects her to Lucy's death.
His Achilles heel.
I don't doubt it. She is so involved in some way.
No need to be sarcastic.

Lol I wasn't being sarcastic I was being genuine.

He put that Laptop in the bin that had evidence of him abusing Lucy.
Oh please.
