Privatisation was 5% under Labour and is now 6%.

Labour used the private sector to reduce waiting lists for urgent cases. ( As explained by a Labour spokesperson only yesterday.)

Woman asks why tax avoidance by the rich isn't the issue being discussed and that immigration is a red herring used to distract people.

    So Dimbleby completely ignores it.

Sack this useless waste of skin

What role should the private sector have in the NHS?

Well none considering it would only be the NHS in name.

Its got plenty the NHS CCGs (clinical commissioning groups) have to tender NHS services every 5 years.

One part of our current provider has gone to Virgin Healthcare.

Maybe you should have a word with Miliband. He gave a speech today promising more cuts.

I thought we were all agreed that Milliband is inept?

As usual, Dimbleby gives the Labour person a harder time than he does anyone else.

Really? I saw him simply getting her to answer the question, rather than reeling off buzzwords and trying to mislead everyone.

Just as well you aren't a football commentator: "the player with the brown hair kicked the ball to the bald one".

Private sector was just used to flex resources - in the same way that the Beeb uses "cloud" or rent extra compute power for iPlayer transcoding during massive peak times.

No way should the NHS ever be privatised.

It needs sorting out, but not by selling it off.

We also don't need privatisation by the back door.

He backed down quickly when it was suggested he stand for Parliament. He hates the Government.
He is a rabble rouser not a politician. Revolutionary history is littered with his ilk.

If Brand has such strong opinions, why doesn't he vote. The idiot has written a script, and the BBC have chosen an audience who appreciate him.

Like the guy said.. if he felt as passionate about this as he says.. he would stand for election. But he won't because that's too much like hard work and doesn't allow him to take the easy route and rant on the fringes. I wonder how far back his views go or if he's just a recent thing.

Exactly - we shouldn't be letting in rapists and murderers. But we do.

we probably let a lot more rapists and murderers skip off to live in Spain.

I haven't bought an actual newspaper in ages but I try to browse as many as possible online. It's good to get a range of viewpoints rather than just one.

So you want to remove all private sector provision within the NHS? Might cause a fair few problems in mental health, for one.

Sat between two women first question are politicians rubbish 2nd question immigration, big ukipper in front row with walking stick attacks Brand debating him was a no win

I don't think Brand is used to people disagreeing with him. Perhaps he saw himself in the man. ( obviously not physically)

But bulk-rental of private resources during peak times IS actually quite practical - until such a time as they get back to 70% usage of resource... by building more capacity...

Problem is - Tories tend to always sweat resources by running them as close to 100% as possible..

    I'm an IT capacity planner...
