Finished Police by Jo Nesbo quite a while back but forgot to note it. Much better than Phantom which was too far fetched and suggested the character of Harry Hole might have run his course. But this was an excellent return to form. Look forward to more HH

Saw the film, which many didn't like (but I did) and when
I was offered these books, thought I would give them a
go. Glad I did. On the third of the five stories, although
one is only a short story, the other novels are gripping
fast paced sci-fi, if that is your kind of thing!
Finished Jeffrey Eugenides's "The Virgin Suicides". Beautifully written novel. Along with 'Middlesex' heis one of the best contemporary American novelists.

I concur. Middlesex is particularly is a tremendous work.
The Outcast Dead - Elly Griffiths - I didn't know it was part of a series - I must have got it in an Amazon deal at some point, hopefully the fact that it is part of a series won't spoil it.
How are you finding it? I've got one of his books in audio format, and it's very good!!
I'm reading "The Waiting Room" by F G Cottam... Excellent supernatural thriller:D:D:o:o I've read it before.
Thoroughly enjoying it so far - it's covering The Stuarts and the Civil War, which are areas I'm interested in learning more about; I very often tend to stick the Tudor period when I buy History books!

Have finally got around to reading '1984'! I can't believe I've never read it. It's one of those books with references that have seeped into popular culture so much though, therefore am enjoying checking out the original text.

I've not read a book for nearly 4 years but recently decided that I should read more.
I've just finished A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer and have just started Kane and Abel as I enjoyed the first book I mentioned.
I was all ready to give it up at page 40 but persevered this morning and now I'm loving it. Still not quite sure it's the Booker of Bookers but it's fantastically evocative.

Most enjoyable book so far.
I love Bainbridge's work and this is no different - an absolute joy of a dark comedy.
