    HairBrained [2013]. Director: Billy Kent

    5/10

College quiz-team comedy that tries desperately to be quirky and fails.

Shooting Dogs - It's about the 1994 Rwandan genocide. A very well made film. Disturbing stuff.

Birdman(2014). Hilariously funny, its like an old fashioned theatrical farce, looks fantastic and the cast were brilliant, even Emma Stone and Naomi Watts were good (who'd of thought!!!! ). One of the best films made this century. 9/10

The Theory of Everything (2014). Fairly decent for that kind of dull but worthy type film. Nice performances by the leads. Some nice camera work.
Will anyone want to see it in a years time? Probably not. 6/10
    .

How strange: everyone I know who has seen Theory of Everything is raving about it, including my very fussy son and a movie buff friend. I've seen it twice and think it is amazing and am sure I will want to see it in a year's time. Funny how differently we view the same movie....

    Birdman sounds interesting

Scent of a Woman - hadn't seen it for years, had forgotten how good it is.

I know - my favourite Al Pacino movie, acting against type
    Into the woods - 4/10
A very poorly miscast film. However Anna Kendrick, Chris pine and the two kid actors all shined. I knew the film would be toned down but Disney toned it down too much and made it camp and fluffy. One of the biggest disappointments I have ever seen in a film. Loses the heart and magic of the theatre show.

This has had such mixed reviews with one person saying it was the best musical she'd seen and others feeling like you.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

I have nothing to say that has not already been said by many other people.

    Movie 6/10
    Trilogy 5/10

I loved the first Hobbit but this was poor

    Contraband

Mark Wahlberg does the smuggling in one-last-job crime thriller. It ends both too cutely and too messily, but has already proved itself a cut above others in the same pool thanks to its sustained tension and fat-free approach. A pleasant surprise and certainly worth a go. 7/10

    Foxcatcher

    World is not enough

I enjoy this more then the last one , it had a better plot to it

It had a lot action compared to tomrow never dies

Another really good opening scene The actions scenes were great

This movie did have a better plot however the movie was predicable as you could the few twist and turns coming way to early.

    I am giving this a 6 out of 10

Sorry as I'm confident I'll be in a very, very small minority here....

    Dumb and Dumber too
First film was a guilty pleasure. Sequel not as good but there were some laugh out loud moments and worth a watch if you like the Farrelly brothers. The train moment made me laugh out loud.

    7.5/10

The complete antithesis of the Bond films and better than most of them.

If I Stay - 7/10 Liked it. Taken from IMDB:-
"Life changes in an instant for young Mia Hall after a car accident puts her in a coma. During an out-of-body experience, she must decide whether to wake up and live a life far different than she had imagined. The choice is hers if she can go on."

These Final Hours - 5/10 - Sad. Taken from IMDB:-
"A self-obsessed young man makes his way to the party-to-end-all-parties on the last day on Earth, but ends up saving the life of a little girl searching for her father. Their relationship ultimately leads him on the path to redemption."

The film was ok, thing is though i find Hawking a bit odd for a scientist, the god thing - religious scientists really Chinese Wall their religious beliefs from their work, the ones that don't believe in a creator don't talk about a god, its of no interest to them. There is a media obsession with this thing, being cynical i wonder whether Hawking has staged this for commercial purposes.

The meeting with his wife came across as fake as well, didn't ring true at all to me.

    Crank [2006]. Directors: Neveldine/Taylor

    5/10

Another dumb Jason Staham action movie.

    *****

From Here to Eternity [1953]. Director: Fred Zinnemann

    7/10

Multiple Oscar-winning (8) movie set before and during the Pear Harbor attack. It shows a very unflattering side of army life.

The Italian Job (Original) - 5.5/10
The stunts were great but the rest didn't interest me. I'll probably get hate for saying this but wasn't keen on the abrupt ending,I really wanted to know if they got away with it or not.
And yes I get that it leaves on a literal cliffhanger (ha ha) but I stuck with this film and I'd like a damned ending.

    Kindergarten Cop.

Great 90s film. After a recent trip to Astoria, Oregon in the US, I'm now planning on watching as many films that were set there as I can. The Goonies, Short Circuit, Stand By Me and Free Willy are the next few to watch,
