On Emmerdale there are a couple:

    1. On Dan and Kerry's wedding day her real husband turned up. They never mentioned if the two of them got a divorce or if Dan and Kerry plan to ever get married legally.

    2. Ruby and Allie's quest for a baby was dropped and also were 2 characters involved in that story. The guy who Michelle was dating a month ago on Coronation Street was Ruby's ex and she was caring for his grandfather, it seemed like they were going to be major characters and they just disappeared as did Ruby's quest for a baby.

The ex and his dad just seemed a stupid way of having Ruby lose her job as a carer so that she could work full time in the café.
The baby issue was resolved though. As far as I can remember, they talked it through and Ruby decided it was too heartbreaking to continue so they decided to stop trying.

Dan Ferreira, the Elvis impersonator. Wasn't there supposed to be a big storyline involving him and his kids, but was cancelled when the actor had visa problems? I'm sure it would've been as terrible as the s/l we were left with, Ronny's stabbing. I read that a number of British Asian actors were angry that EE and Kathleen Hutchinson had to reach out to a Bollywood actor in India to play the role, when they could've given an opportunity to a homegrown talent. If that happened, the s/l would've gone ahead.

The storyline was going to be that his kids would finally get sick of him and murder him, then have to cover up the death. This was supposed to make them a lot more sympathetic - they had good reason to snap (as he was very controlling, constantly haranguing them) and IMO would probably have been better than "Kidneygate." However, they then reportedly turned the original idea into what became Den's death, so maybe it's just as well it played out as it did.

    A few from Hollyoaks:

Mitzeee and Maxine being related to the Costellos (including Silas, through marriage)

It seems to be completely forgotten that Ste abused Amy - not least by Amy herself.

Jack's ex-wife Celia, originally introduced as Darren's mother before they retconned events to make Sandy his mother.

    Darren being married to Hannah

Tina and Michaela McQueen seem to be forgotten completely, although Jacqui is still mentioned now and then (she is legally Phoebe's mother, and Myra lives with her in Alicante.)

Jim was entirely forgotten about after his death, and Carmel was engaged to Sonny just a few weeks later.

The Halloween episode last year, with Peri and Nico researching Silas and visiting his old house, made out that he committed all the murders a very long time ago and had now reached urban legend status with no one able to remember the truth any more. It was less than five years ago, and there are still people around who knew him.

The bus crash, "Hollyoaks Blast", the numerous Dog and Loft fires, all the big stunts

No one seems to remember that Ste was ever married to Doug (although he did catch HIV from a guy who was deliberately cast to look like Doug.) It was particularly bad before his wedding to John Paul when he was having that heart-to-heart with Tony, and Tony was talking like it was Ste's first marriage, even though Ste married Doug in a joint wedding with Tony and Cindy!!

Hollyoaks Community College hasn't been mentioned since early last year when Tegan was supposedly a student there, but now it has effectively ceased to exist

    A few from corrie:

Sean's completely forgotten he has a son

Ownership of the Rover's - Steve owned it & brought in Stella as a manager but when she left he bought it back off her with Liz's help even though to my knowledge he never sold it in the first place (although I couldn't stand to watch too much when Michelle Collins was in so apologies if I'm wrong here) & at the same time I seem to recall a letter was found stating that Betty owned the pub but no-one knew so how did Steve or anyone else before him buy the pub??

Where did Gail's dad go? He literally just disappeared

Gary Windass breaking into Audrey's house

The Ferreiras were under Louise Berridge, Hutchison was responsible for axing them.

Continuing with EastEnders: whatever happened to Masala Queen that was co-owned by The Ahmeds (and I think Christian) and Ian Beale?

And Jane's chef career in Cardiff...

It's strange that neither Dot, Nick or Charlie ever mention Dotty (can't remember her real name), their granddaughter, daughter and little sister respectively.

And "Essex" is seemingly OK with having all her millions stolen - especially as she doesn't know that the thieves were Phil and Shirley.

No word on Alfie setting fire to his house either.

Not sure about a couple of the above but Dot and Nick mentioned Kirsty ("Dotty") at Halloween which isnt that long ago.

I think Phil and Shirley only stole Roxy's last 30K rather than the millions she managed to squander all by her self.

A couple of weeks ago or less Donna referenced Alfie's arson when she was considering him as a lodger

No one really ever goes to McKlunkys anymore, do they? And Beales restaurant seems to have been forgotten since Charlie and Ronnie's NYD wedding.

The Anna-then-Sally teaching Tim how to read storyline in Corrie seems to have fallen by the wayside too.

funny how Gary never even mentions his dad, IIRC didn't he just go off to work in Germany or something? you'd think he'd visit to see his grandchild. ditto Martin Platt.

Does Ian Beale in EastEnders still own the Fish & Chips shop? If so, who runs it? Did he once own a general store as well as the cafe?

Does the cafe still do late night opening?

Yes he does. A random extra. He had a shop in the Albert set.

    No idea.

The secret doorway that connected Tony's flat to the one Grace and Trevor now have. Max, OB and Tom lived there at the time and used the door to play tricks on Tony.

The fact Tom Cunningham was left a huge inheritance by Max when he died from life insurance, including Grace and Trevor's flat.

That Diane is Sinead and Finn's ex-stepmother. During the whole rape trial they kept insisting in court scenes she was their mother. Also how come Finn's dad never showed up or was mentioned once during the trial?

Darren Osborne being able to run a taxi firm despite having a criminal record when over in Emmerdale Aaron and Adam were refused a taxi permit because of their records.

Belle Dingle was actually named and christened Tinkerbelle Dingle. During her trial she was called to court as Belle. Surely formal proceedings would call for her to be referred to by her full name?

Chas Dingle's brief army career and also that when she first arrived she had supposedly recently graduated with a business degree.

The connection between Edna and Lawrence seems to have been forgotten since the Whites became permanent characters.

Kerry's diabetes in Emmerdale doesn't ever seem affected by her drinking habits etc anymore.

Sinead wasn't mentioned during the trial at all, and it's possible Diane is now legally Finn's mother if she has adopted him (not implausible, as she's raised him since he was a small child.) This may also be why Finn's dad is not around if Diane has legal responsibility for him. Finn's dad has not been around for a while and wasn't looking after him at the time of the rape, so I guess there was no reason to call the guy there

I can't remember where Eddie Windass went; think it might have been Germany. Hope someone can enlighten us. And, yeah it he should get some kind of passing mention.

I have a chuckle to myself whenever the Corrie Streetcars characters mention Fat Brenda, not just because it's funny, but because the actor Steve Huison, who played Eddie, also played Fat Brenda in a stage play and (I think) runs her Twitter account too. This avatar is his pic of her character anyway.
