THE ME BIT!
I do not have a website for you to look at of my own, so I thought I would use this bit to thank everyone for their kind words given that I have taken over the thread. I will continue to update this but will probably need some help as we go along, and where necessary. The kind words are most appreciated. Thanks again - Jimbo

Does anyone have the tuning parameters for the Sky/Sky Sports red button (SD or HD, but HD prefered) channels?
They are not test channels so are not on the list and you cannot store them on a digibox.
They are SD only and are on
12.070 H SR 27500 FEC 2/3 QPSK DVB-S
12.266 H SR 27500 FEC 2/3 QPSK DVB-S
ITV (Central South)______Still broadcasting – identical to ITV Meridian North ?
No I said the old ITV 980x channels were valid until Friday at 0600.
Channel 4 had one difference - Region 27 - which is mapped to Channel 4 Midlands instead of Channel 4 South & East and I was meerly pointing out that when ITV's changes took place at the end of this past week, C4 did not change at all.
Sorry for any confusion. I have forgotten to remove the asterisk!
Sorry, but hope that resolves any confusion!
Yes - this feed is the Oxford transmitter feed which now is aligned wth Hannington
Ridge Hill feed (Central South West) is now aligned with Sutton Coldfield and is also still broadcasting
I see that was an oversite on someone's part that channel 4 has midlands adds in an area that is now classed as south east by ITV and BBC, in fact I think the BBC have always classed it as the south east?
Also what do Channel 5 class it as, I know they put all of midlands and south England minus London as 1 big region, but they still must see it as ether south east, south west or midlands?
I guess adverts on channel 4 in Oxford wont actually make a huge difference to viewer though, unless they are too midlands for people to take notice?
No idea about C5 but that is part of South Central anyway.
The other anomaly is Region 28, where although ITV classes this as Border England, C4 and C5 take Scotland adverts for this region. BBC has North West for 101. Covers South Cumbria.

Even though the map itself has not changed, the region mapping has and my list is correct. The region SIDs on the list on this page on ukfreetv are now out of date)

This is correct.
Yes the big news was that the FEC went to 5/6 allowing 55~Mbps on that tp!
I see its a shame that channels 4 &5 don't try and match up ad regions to countries/nations now like England, Scotland,Wales and NI.
Then split England up into two parts giving 5 regions each.
The current ad regional thinking of c4 & 5 is outdated especially with c4 regarding Wales as they now broadcast there they might as well make it a region!
This would further help if they decided they ever wanted to show regional programs that were different in different countries/nations.
On top of that C4 going to 5 add regions instead of 6 would mean that 4Severn could go on one of their other tps and the tp with c4 in HD could go DVB-S2 in 23000 5/6 mode and carry what would then be 5 add regions in HD!
Jimbo - do check but I don't think this is right. The version of BBC One HD in NI is the England version, not BBC One NI HD. Also, it should say all other UK regions (it's not on 979 in Ireland)

Indeed you are right. If it is stil;l there next time I will change it.
That's what I mean they could so line up if Ofcom got involved and said TV regions have to conform with each other, meaning that certain large regions are set and if you want to go smaller that you just devide those larger regions up but can't make different ones.
So if you broadcast to a nation you have to have a feed just for that nation so that it keeps in line with the other broadcasters broadcasting to just that nation or sub divide it like Scotland and England are.
The point is if the PSBs used the same regions it would make life easier for everyone including the broadcasters at a technical level.

The 'Pick +1 FSAT' & 'Challenge +1 FSAT' labels are still full duplicates of existing Pick and Challenge +1's without differing data PID's so until this is changes in the TS for the two Mux's I'm guessing won't be added to the FS EPG. If you compare the linear FS versions of Pick and Challenge there's differing data PID's and no OP47 (teletext) subs PID's on the FS version versus Sky mapped version. FS uses DVB subs hence why no OP47 subs are required.
