I really don't like the Missy character. She/He/It made no sense. The whole sex change story was baloney and based on a throw-away line made a long time ago.
Moffat attempted to ruin the Daleks with their redesign (failed thankfully), he has not explained how Missy managed to escape when all of the other Galifreyans were sent back to wherever they are hidden. He certainly hasn't explained how Rassilon is alive after being dead for so long (The Five Doctors).
But worst of all, he has insulted the memory of The Brig by turning him into a Cyberman and then negating his final act of destroying the villain of the piece. That was unforgivable.
The Peter Capaldi first season was great, not oppressive like the Matt Smith ones but ultimately spoilt by this nonsensical character.
Get a grip Moffat or go!
Rather insutling, don't you think?
Firstly, not a sex change - it's a regeneration, not an operation.
Secondly, as the character is female, and refers to herself as female, the proper pronoun (only pronoun that doesn't make you sound idiotic) is 'She'.
Have your problems with the story, but try not to devolve into petty mudslinging.
Well actually it is a sex change regeneration. The Master was male and now (unfortunately) is female so that is a sex change. I don't think embrascot was being insulting, just expressing an opinion, which I happen to agree with.

If these people were human, yes. For a Time Lord it might be no more significant that being a bit taller, or having curly hair instead of floppy. For them, it might be no more than a change of shape.
For all we know, they may just adopt male/female morphology for the sake of curiosity, or for fun, or because the rest of the galaxy does it.

First of all, the Rassilon resurrection was RTD'S idea, not Steven Moffat's. Why should he have to explain that?
Insulting the memory of the Brig? Please, give me a break! Unforgivable? Entitled much? Talk about melodramatic...!
Why is Missy nonsensical? Time Lords aren't human, they can change gender. Get over it or stop watching.
And "get a grip or go" ? I think you're the one who needs to get a grip mate. I hate it when certain fans insult or disparage the writers just because the show isn't what THEY want it to be. Have you ever written for a TV show and been judged on it? No?
Thought not.
Same as her Death in Heaven costume but with a vortex manipulater.
We don't know that for a fact yet, as she may have just worn the costume for the sake of the promo. All the same, I suspect it will be the same costume...as much as I'd love a drastic change. I'd love to see her coming back in totally different attire

The derogatory usage and tone was definitely insulting. How can using 'it' in any context involving a person be anything other than insulting? It's this kind of blasé use of insults toward differences, and the 'I don't think it's insulting' affirmations from people whom it doesn't affect are reasons why change for the better is so slow...
Also, it was a regeneration. Regenerations are described as thus in the TARDIS Wiki:
Regeneration was the process by which Time Lords and others renewed themselves, causing a complete physical and often personality change.
The highlighted area shows the salient point. If it is a complete physical change, then the outcome being a different gender is no different at all from anything else the Master has already been through during a regeneration.
Moffat said: “Michelle Gomez as Missy was an instant hit last year [...]"
Well, he would say that, wouldn't he. Despite the many anti-Missy comments in this and other forums. But then, I doubt if he reads forums. "Instant hit" to me suggests at least 95% approval - which Missy clearly did not attain.

Really? Missy seems to do quite well around here and other Internetty parts (GallifreyBase etc). Even The Mirror supported her
Seemed well received enough to me at the time - and still does! Negative comments don't negate a success - Doctor Who is a testament to that!
I don't expect Moffat spends much time here since his days on the forums defending RTD, no. Not after being chased off with death threats and other disproportionate forms of showing that you don't like a TV show.

People who contribute to forums make up a tiny proportion of the total viewers of Doctor Who. I mean we are talking only a few hundreds of views on forums compared with goodness knows how many million viewers worldwide.
The reason Moffat doesn't read forums is that the views put forward here, and elsewhere, represent a fervent, rabid and very vocal minority (and I happily count myself as a fervent rabid fan), not the views of most of the audience. Perhaps Missy wasn't an instant hit with the die hard fans (though I'd agree with CD93 - I too got the impression that Missy went down rather well on this board), but being a hit with the hard core fans is not what Doctor Who should be looking for.
I'm old enough to remember how JNT courted fan favour in the mid 1980s and the show took an horrendous nosedive in quality. Fans really don't know what's best for Doctor Who!
Doctor Who appeals to a massive audience and quite frankly the obsessive views of hard core fandom (myself included) ought to be pretty much dismissed by any sensible production team.
Missy did prove popular with the wider audience. I think some fans tend to forget that those of us here on forums and tumblr etc., only make up a tiny percentage of the audience. And on forums it's often the case that the nay-sayers shout louder than those being positive about the show.
I'm not a fan of Missy, but I can't deny she was a hit with a large majority of viewers.
Ther problem with Missy was that her story fizzled out, Dark Water was brilliant but Death In Heaven was a bit meh and Missy's defeat was a bit of a non-event.
I'm hoping that Missy has come back for Clara, (Moffat said: “Everybody hide - Michelle Gomez as Missy was an instant hit last year, so she’s straight back to plague the Doctor and Clara in the series opener. But what brings her back into their lives is the last thing they’d expect.”) and that Clara is "The Witch'S Familiar" (I don't think they fully developed the idea last tme out that Clara was a big pawn in Missy's evil game), leading to a big tug-of-war battle for her heart and mind between the Doctor and Missy, which the Doctor will win (or so he thinks.:o).
