L/Cpl Joshua Leakey 1 Para awarded the Victoria Cross for actions in Afghanistan. Part of the citation reads;
Nice one mate.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31626357
Under fire yet undeterred by the very clear and present danger, Lance Corporal Leakey ran across the exposed slope of the hill three times to initiate casualty evacuation, re-site machine guns and return fire. His actions proved the turning point, inspiring his comrades to fight back with renewed ferocity. Displaying leadership well above that expected of his rank, Lance Corporal Leakey's actions singlehandedly regained the initiative and prevented considerable loss of life.
Nice one mate.

I just heard on the news he killed 11 people
You heard wrong.
In the action where he received the recommendation for the VC 11 insurgents were killed, not that he killed them himself.
Anyway, well done to this brave man, he is a credit to his family and to the British Army.
I would imagine this is not on our side.
Link?
What in hells name was "minimised" about the action?.
The OP was clear as crystal, and so was the news report it linked to.
Insurgents attacked and some died, what is your problem?.
they should line them up.......
You mean like shooting schoolgirls for the crime of going to school?
I'm sure the Taliban have their own medals for that kind of thing.
No. I mean exactly what my question asked.
Which was: "How do people here feel about similarly courageous actions by enemy combatants"?
A brave c**t is still a c**t.
They are the enemy. If they die then I am happy, if they give up I am happy, but I don't give a stuff how brave or not they were providing they were stopped from killing our guys......
Direct as ever MF.......:D
Taliban fighters who have shown courage in battle are awarded a new pair of flip flops.
But how do you know he is a c***? Were all German soldiers in WWs 1 and 2 "c***s" as individuals in your view? Were all Argentinian forces "c***s" in the Falkland conflict? Is that how you see the world?
I see any individual or member of an organisation that purposely executes school children for the "sin" of trying to get an education as c**t's, Don't you?
There is no comparison between those animals and members of the German or the Argentinian armed forces. Having said that those German soldiers that actively took part in the holocaust were probably c**ts too.
I need at least 4 more coffees before I can be diplomatic about baby killers.
General George Patton said it far better than I ever could;
If that makes you somehow queasy.................................meh.
