Never thought I would see the day I agree with a Labour MP (Rachel Reeves on MPs second jobs).

I wonder what Diane Abbott or Alan Johnson will say about it on This Week.

They were still moving all their call centres out to places like India then though.

That should have been seen as a warning. But things that cannot be moved like agriculture and to a certain extent industry paid well because people were needed. Today those same jobs are being steadily taken over by immigrant workers who are prepared to work for less than the equivalent of what a British national was earning a decade ago.

Dimbleby gets on my nerves! He's not a chairman he's more like a shock jock trying to wind them up.
He lost it years ago, if he ever had it.

Did she just saying being an MP is a full time job? hahahahaha

Is that the same MP's who are off constantly for weeks/months at a time?

And particularly the MP that's already had five months maternity leave for her first child; about to go on leave for her second.

    Full time my arse

    Good evening

How can people concentrate on two different jobs and do them both well? One job is bound to suffer.

Depends on the hours you do in both?

So I wonder what is the exact figure that cures greed?

I don't understand the logic of bumping MPs pay up to, say, £100k a year which would then somehow magically make them indifferent to the additional outside work that can line their pockets to the tune of a couple of hundred grand. Does a wage of £100k suddenly abolish greed in our elected liars?

It's greed pure and simple. They don't get enough now so pay them more. All of a sudden the new amount won't be enough. So when somebody offers them more for "extra" work they will take it and we go through the whole MPs are not paid enough cycle again.
