Incident With Cab Driver

I was walking on the pavement and had to move to the left because there were two bins in my way but l was still far enough away from the kerb when this cab suddenly mounted on the pavement behind me and was too close for comfort. I shouted out my disgust at the driver as he stopped a few yards further on to let his passengers out. All l got back was a torrent of abuse, no apologies for nearly giving me a heart attack!
I noticed the cab's right-hand wheels was parked on the pavement when l was having the argument with this poor excuse of a driver. After l had my say, I stared at him until he drove off.
Would anyone reacted the same way as me or think nothing of it and simply walk on?

I nearly did.....on the pavement!
Care to elaborate on what exactly you said to the driver?
I called him an idiot.
but why did he have to mount the pavement at speed. He could have pulled up by the kerb like 99% of drivers?
...and he swore at you. End of story.
To answer your question I guess most people would react the same way...driver does something you don't like, you shout at them, they shout at you. Happens every day.
So just move on and forget about it...no one got hurt, just one of those things.
hahahah love that!
If that could be considered a murder weapon:o
It is end of story only if he learns from it. Next time he could be less fortunate!
Maybe you could learn something too, don't shout and/or be abusive to others if you do not wish to receive the same back.
Ultimately you were the one that started being abusive first, he was just retaliating.
How can saying idiot be abusive? He was an idiot for mounting a pavement at speed and nearly ran me over!
I dont know, but some people react angrily over things like this, others just walk off and dont give it another thought. To me its pointless shouting at someone like this, if they thought they were in the wrong they would have let you know that. Don't let the crap ruin your day.
You get a couple of replies seeming not to take you seriously, and now the incident escalates to, "mounting the kerb at speed".
You say it was a cab, most cab drivers own their vehicles, being professionals they would know that mounting the kerb at speed would very likely cause damage to their tyres.
If I were you I'd forget this, and think up something else to complain about.
Nothing to see here folks.
Sounds like a right arse. Next time take a photo of the cab plate and report him.
I was on the bus waiting to get off at the next stop a few yards away. The bus was stuck in traffic when this woman came from the top deck and open the doors by pulling on the above emergency switch. As the doors opened, the bus moved away. She jumped off and, luckily for me, l didn't follow her out as l was holding the rail!
Such madness!
I have heard of and indeed seen people seriously messed up by angry people over the stupidest of things - does not really matter who is right or wrong, just be wary before you decide to shout something.
Indeed, in some cases people have been killed in such incidents, basically over something trivial.
And I am not being disparaging to the OP, just think they should let it rest, and be mindful of the possible consequences of shouting at people in the street...there are some serious nutters out there...!
Sorry to disappoint you but he did mount up at speed. I was there, you was not!
OK I get your first post ( and understand you were shaken and angry) but this one makes you look like you are trying to be a victim.
The thought of 'being a victim' is far from my mind. Just pointing out how a minority of the public can do stupid things that could end up into something serious.
