I recall when he was on a chat show and was talking about his experiences with his arctic expeditions and he told a tale about polar bears coming into the camp.
According to the tale one came and put his face through BB's tent and BB roared, punched it on the nose and the bear scooted off:D
I don't know if it was apochraphl (sp) or not, but the way he told the story was brilliant.
True or not, it is the sort of thing I can imagine him doing.:p
I would love to go on a drinking session with him; he wouldn't have to put his hand in his pocket all night, just keep telling his anecdotes:)
I remember an interview he did with Simon Bates. Brian had just come back from Everest having climbed three quarters of the way, but had had to come down due to poor weather. Bates made some comment on the lines of " It's a good job this studio is only three quarters up the building' if it had been on the top floor you would never have made it"
Not surprisingly Brian was not pleased and gave Simon Bates a real earful
The Flash Gordon actor added: “They’ve promised it will make me feel like a 25-year-old for the next 30 years.
“I had severe fibrillation, but the reason is this old bugger has climbed Everest three times, walked across the North Pole, scaled mountains and *volcanoes and trained as an astronaut.
“I’ve taken terrible risks, and I’ve put my heart under severe strain.
“But do you know what... my heart has been voted by Prince Phillip’s surgeons as the strongest they’ve seen in a man of my age.”
I love Brian Blessed for his passion, positivity, not giving a damn what others think of him and his amazing voice! I remember him from lots of fantastic performances, but must admit Gerald Durrell's My family and Other Animals stands out.

Sorry but I laugh like a drain every time I see the episode where he loses his voice and I've got a 2 year old so I see it on a regular basis

In an interview published in the Daily Mirror, he did not say where he was going but said his procedure would involve a “new invention from Germany”.
