I don't buy this oil thing, regarding the Middle East, since Russia produces more oil than any other country in the world. Oil reserves, yeah fair enough, but we'd have to invade these countries permanently in order to snag it. The USA produces nearly as much oil as Saudi Arabia. Right now we don't really need the Middle East for oil. Personally, I think it's a bit of a red herring that the only reason we have any interest in the Middle East is just because of oil.

It's a similar sort of argument as saying that without the USA we'd be a sitting duck military wise. Yes. And I'm the the Queen of Sheba.
It's to do with the petrodollar. Saudi Arabia promised the US to sell Saudi oil in American dollars as long as they could rely on protection from the US in return. We've seen what happens to countries that try to dump the petrodollar and sell in another currency.
I love dogs, but remember dogs are considered unclean, with the Koran and Hadiths bursting with anti-dog stories, with one passage declaring that black dogs are a manifestation of evil in animal form. Muhammad said that keeping that the company of dogs voids a portion of a Muslim’s good deeds. For his father to call him a dog is one of the greatest insults within Islam.
And yet in SA there is a desert dog that is accepted by many.
Tell that to the children groomed online by paedophiles. Or would they happily go along with what is asked of them?
I think it is disgusting the way you are minimising what happens to abused children and victims of domestic abuse by comparing it to these girls being talked to on social blogs.
Yesterday a report came out on child abuse. Those children were raoed, beaten, drugged, stalked and threatened - and guess what? They still weren't brainwashed. Many complained and sought help again and again. Even under those conditions only some people will accept their abusers worldview.
You can't cobtroll someone by social media if such personal control is so hard to maintain. If those girls didn't like what IS was selling all they had to do was switch off and talk to an adult. They chose not to.

And yet if this had occurred in another situation in my country, like an under age schoolgirl being lured by a man to cross the state line, it would indeed be called child abuse and the man would be prosecuted. For many of us it is and should be a crime against a minor. So it's not comparing it to child abuse. It is child abuse.

Dogs just have a different role in many Muslim countries. They are kept but as guard dogs outside the house. Not as a member of the family to cuddle up to.

The Muskims I knew had the dog as a pet though, not guard dog.
It is just that the breed is accepted. Not all dogs.

I can't help thinking this has become something of a trite rebuttal, in the same way the whole "Islam is not a race so I can't be racist" thing has.
It's just something to be used by people who seek to obfuscate their prejudices.
I can't believe people don't like dogs or pigs because of what a bloke thought about them 1400 years ago, how ridiculous. It must be sad not to be able to think for yourself.

If you are talking about the US I don't think there is a crime of luring a child over state lines. There is a crime of taking them over state lines and transporting them. That's kidnapping.
These girls weren't kidnapped or escorted away by an adult. They ran away if their own free will.

A 13 year old that goes to meet an adult they've only spoken to on the internet and never actually met in person is still considered to have been groomed.

Luring them over state lines if it involves sex, is a crime. This could occur within the state, too.

Good luck with catching the person that enticed them in Syria.

If he even existed.
But that is religion for you - the greatest load of cobblers ever dreamed up by mankind.
It is the very antithesis of reason and logical thought.
At least poor old Father Christmas never advocated the mass murder of those who do not believe in him.
Michael Portillo, quite rightly in my opinion, questioned why the BBC are giving Asim Qureshi so much publicity.
Tbh, I think the MSM as a whole are pretty much acting as recruiting sergeants for ISIS. The Mail is particularly bad. They seem to put up a story every time someone in ISIS so much as farts.

The USA are probably quite happy for other countries to think they are a sitting duck without US protection.

Of course it is.

They don't have to be physically escorted.

Refused to condemn genital mutilation, domestic violence and stoning

I wonder what the reaction would be if a non Muslim said that.

Because every time he turns up he looks like a complete idiot? He got put through the mangle by Andrew Neil.
