Starts tonight at 12:35am on CBS.
We’ve been discussing the transition from Craig Ferguson to James Corden in another thread, but I thought it’s about time the new Late Late Show has its own thread.
For reference, the previous thread is here:

Here’s the guests for this first week. I’m not sure about having two reruns in the first week, but is suspect this is due to the NCAA Basketball pushing the start time back to 1:35am on these days.
Mo 3/23: Tom Hanks, Mila Kunis
Tu 3/24: Chris Pine, Modest Mouse
We 3/25: Kevin Hart, Will Ferrell, Leon Bridges
Th 3/26: Rerun TBA
Fr 3/27: Rerun TBA

Will be interesting to see the first few shows
Wise choice. His co-star in Into The Woods. Should be good banter that night. Ferrell and Hart is going to be a hoot.
So how do you watch this? It ain't airing over here.
I agree. As there’s only 3 shows this week I’ll make sure I watch them all.
Interestingly there’s quite a lot of media attention about Mila Kunis wearing a wedding ring while appearing on the first show – that means that tonight’s first show must have been pre-recorded already. Maybe for guest availability or to allow a bit more time to get the production perfect. Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s shows are to be recorded at 6pm in LA on the day of broadcast though, as you’d normally expect (meaning it’ll actually be on air on the East Coast just 2-3 hours after the recording ends).
Someone will probably up it somewhere
If we're really lucky people might upload the full shows to YouTube (there are already fan channels) and CBS might be ok with it, like they were with Craig Ferguson, I suspect that will no longer be the case though.
Otherwise, avoiding the illegal download option, we'll have to use VPNs to get around geo blocking or make do with whatever official clips get uploaded to YouTube, which should hopefully be quite a lot if they want to be a success.
For those who want to watch it, legally and without any VPN wizardry, the official The Late Late Show with James Corden YouTube channel has most of the show uploaded, in clip form:

He is pretty inoffensive, the ratings will be interesting, especially the key demographic.
Based on his first show it's quite clear CBS want him to be their Jimmy Fallon - a friendly, non-offensive, all round entertainer. Quite different to Letterman, Ferguson, and i'm only guessing here, Colbert.
As for the ratings, yes, once the frequency of big name starts drops to normal levels it'll be interesting to see how the programme does. His lead in is extremely non-consistant for the next year though - he'll probably get a boost from Letterman's final shows, then might see a drop as his lead in will be old Letterman repeats (compared to new, ratings hit, Tonight Show over on NBC), then maybe a boost again from Colbert's new show in September.
The repeats will be CBS dramas not Letterman repeats, I think Corden and his producer are aware of this.
Craig Ferguson never was famous here, I only seen him on Just For Laughs on C4, but became semi well known in the US, James Corden is a Marmite figure here, maybe his lack of fame in the US will work in his favour.
They did appear in an ad with him promoting the show.
I didn't know that, thanks. But I still think it's going to damange Corden's ratings in the short term, hopefully everyone takes that into account. He should get a boost by Letterman's final few weeks and Colbert's first few weeks though.
I'm sure he'll be calling on all his famous British friends, but you can't expect them to be available for him when he says so. David Beckham is on next week, Simon Cowell has agreed to go on the show when he's back in LA next month, and I'm sure One Direction will turn up when they are next in LA.
Sounds like a really good idea to me. Thats what Comedy Central did with '@Midnight', moved it to 11:30pm for a few weeks between the end of 'The Colbert Report' and 'The Nightly Show'.
I'm sure CBS have their reasons for deciding to air drama repeats at 11:35pm though.
@midnight didn't do that well at 11.30pm and to have Corden at 11.30pm for three months would be risky especially since he will be only two months into his run.
But Corden having a lead in of a drama rerun when he’s only 2 months into his run is also a risk. His main competition, ‘Late Night with Seth Myers’, will have a lead in of new shows of ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon’, the highest rated late night show on television, by comparison.
I guess both options are risky for CBS, but they had to do something and they’ve made their decision.
I suppose what with PVR’s, on demand, and online clips, the programmes timeslot isn’t as important anymore. But traditional ratings are still what everyone will be looking at.
I guess reruns were chosen because it would be cost effective for CBS since summer is generally low rated anyway. Fallon and Meyers will likely be reruns for some of the summer as well.
Didn't I read here that he laughs hysterically at everything and everyone? No thank you. Yes, they're all sycophants, which is why I gave up on late night television. Ferguson was often good, but he too had an agenda (money, lots and lots of money) and sometimes it showed.
A Marmite figure! I love it, had to look it up - a divisive figure who people would either love or hate
Based on first impressions, I feel about him the same way I feel about Marmite.
Too bad there's no vomit emoticon to insert here.
