And what real connection ... Nick Clegg to Sheffield Hallam
I think Mr Clegg's connections with Sheffield Hallam will end on 7 May 2015.
If he does lose his Sheffield Hallam seat, be interesting if he'll still be the Deputy Prime Minister on Friday 8 May, when other senior politicians will be attending 70th anniversary VE day events.
And what real connection did Ed Miliband have to Doncaster, or Nick Clegg to Sheffield Hallam or David Cameron to West Oxfordshire before they decided they wanted to become the local MP? They were winnable seats - and presumably Notting Hill, Highgate and Barnes already had suitable local candidates?
Here's a simple idea - don't vote for candidates without local connections
Yes they certainly are, but... apparently (as the current rules stand) anti-ukip people are allowed to handpick information that best suits their argument against ukip, ignoring all other countering factors or supporting evidence that get given to them.
Same. He has shaken up politics and hopefully will get us to have our say on the EU.
I am sick of these hypocritical loony Lefties trying to screw up a democracy by trying to tell the people how they should vote. If they succeed in tactical voting they're just as bad as they believe UKIP to be.
People should vote for who they want, not because voting for candidate x will stop y getting in etc. >:(
Just my view lol
Interesting that you're against all political campaigning, then. (And that you think your own view is a joke).
The story provides no evidence and she has denied this and provided an explanation. I worry we are going to have a lot of this throwing out smears over the next month - by the time it's disproved the mud will possibly have stuck.
She is running in Rotherham - nice way for Labour to distract from their failure to prevent 1400 girls from being abused. But no doubt this is seen by some as a bigger crime!
I am still waiting for the stories about MPs who are still renting properties from each so they can claim rent under the new expenses rules rather than live in their own properties - I might suggest rents in London are quite large too!
Ukip is a “cult” that is “too willing to entertain bigots,” according to the former chair of the party’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender group.
Tom Booker, who set up the LGBT three years ago, said Nigel Farage used the group purely as a public relations stunt to shield the party against accusations of homophobia.
After countless episodes of countering claims the party was homophobic, he said he “simply couldn’t defend the party any more”.
The final straw came when the Christian Soldiers, a group affiliated with Ukip, distributed leaflets describing Manchester’s Gay Pride march as an “annual parade of depravity” and a “display of wickedness”.
Mr Booker knew enough was enough when Ukip failed to break its ties with the group.
Any criticism is either labelled as ‘media bias’ or ‘loony-lefty nonsense’ *.
I might suggest having unlimited or excessive immigration from some of the most homophobic nations on earth is far more of a long term risks to the rights and freedoms of gay people. It isn't UKIP that wants to ban male strip nights in Tower Hamlets.

Go post your trolling assumptions elsewhere please. They're NOT giving us any say, we want a referendum on the EU. I don't call denying people a vote political campaigning.
You would probably be more suited for the Big Brother forum.

Oooh, scary insults!
Projection?
By the way, 'you' are not 'we'. ;-) Many UKIP supporters could not even name the main institutions of the EU, the main types of legislation, know much about its history and rationale or care less about its vital geopolitical role. For many, it's just about foreigners. Not 'lol' at all.

Not at all.
The usual numpty accusations! It IS about 'lack of control ' of access to 'foreigners', which the vast majoity of countries, sensibly, would not entertain, and, the ridiculously high membership fee that we have to pay.

In 80 per cent of seats if you put up a donkey with a Labour or Tory rosette on it it would win.
We need to end safe seats for life.
What is it about Ukip and expenses?
Maybe the main parties massive expense scandals has rubbed off on them, given their support appears to be as strong now as it was then.
Most of them are at it, not just UKIP.

*sounds very familiar ;-)

I know this is old now, but still very funny.

Em...
Unlike the other leaders he is a genuinely funny bloke. I liked this advert he did for Paddy Power too :

Must be running low on candidates given the rate they keep "losing" them.
It will be hard for them to come out with an April Fool's joke, though, since UKIP are so good at parodying themselves.

YouGov have UKIP polling in the lead in Heywood and Middleton, 10 points ahead in Thurrock and neck and neck with Labour in Grimsby.
Aren't they a bit old for colouring books?
