Burley was beyond appalling tonight.
Her bias shone through, interrupting Miliband almost every 10 seconds, practically jumped Cameron at the end of the Q&A. It was sickly!
Paxo did nothing more than grandstand when he had Miliband on. A sham if im honest!
And both presenters Tories, which is hardly impartial and balanced!
So who is watching it on the BBC News Channel because its always ironic to watch it on the other channel?
As I have deleted Sky News from my list of channels (plus all other Murdoch channels), I will be watching on the BBC News Channel.
What did I think? First observation...Biased Burley! How is she? ...and the number of pointless questions she asked Miliband with the direct intent of undermining him were?
Disagree. Miliband did very well having to deal with some very personal questioning from Paxley. The more I see of Miliband, the more I like him. Much more relate-able, much more human.
I have never really paid much attention to Burley or the Burley detractors before. However she was awful. Biased, petty and certainly odd in appearance - both in facial features, and tan colour. Get rid Sky.

Maybe "human" and "relate-able" - but he didn't show any of the qualities of a winner: someone you want to lead the country. I expect he'd be great as a generous, giveaway P.M. in times of plenty - but we don't have them and we won't do for maybe 10 years.
When Miliband was asked about immigration (right at the start) he froze and couldn't even form a coherent sentence.
Most of his questions were about him as a person (as that seems to be where most doubt lies: has he "the right stuff") and nothing about his party's policies, how they would finance them or how they would deal with opposition.
He might be nerdy, "nice" and inspiring, but he wasn't tested on any of the difficult, policy questions that most people care about.

I'm guessing you missed his huge contradiction then.
In one breath he said he probably wouldn't give us a referendum because " I want us to stay in Europe"
Then had the cheek to end his segment with " you guys are the boss "
Yeah Kay was definitely biased. I'm sure she tried not to be, but she wasn't as tough on Cameron as Miliband and she practically simpered to him at the end. She strikes me as someone who finds it hard to put her personal views aside.
Funny how she said to the audience: "do you want to show your appreciation for the Prime Minister?" at the end of his segment, which prompted the audience to applaud. Then when Miliband was on and got an unprompted applause near the start, she said something like "ooh applause already - I wonder if you'll get that at the end".

The guy is a muppet to say the least.
Actually he pointed out VALID reasons for staying within the EU. As a socialist myself, perhaps leaving the EU would be better but he DID give valid points for staying.
On that note he is right we are the boss, if we want out the EU then vote the tricky dodgy slimeball that is Cameron and vote yes at his referendum. Simple.
I thought Ed, shone through very well, was faced with difficult questions. Some of which were very personal and had nothing to do with the election whatsoever.
Agree with Ash_M1 he came across quite normal, one that definitely sounds like one of the people.
He did admit to the failings of Labour too, could any one of you see Cameron doing that? no he blames Labour instead. Teflon coated tories.
I know who I want. If anyone also has any sense they would too.

I notice that she has not been mentioned in all the media coverage, you would think that only Paxman was questioning them.

I agree completely, Burley was an embarrassment. Is she so unprofessional/clueless she didn't realise how biased she was? Or maybe she just doesn't care.
I didn't particularly like Paxman's withering, dismissive approach, at times it seemed his principal objective was to show everyone how much cleverer he is than Cameron and Miliband. But at least he was consistent and gave both of them a tough time.
So who is watching it on the BBC News Channel because its always ironic to watch it on the other channel?
I did that last time around for that very reason. Last night I would have watched it on the BBC News channel, not least because the picture seemed to be a second or two in front of the others (at least on Freeview, don't know about Sky due to double recordings) but because they had the news ticker I didn't. I seemed strange watching Sky News without the ticker but I watched most of it on Channel 4 as they had a completely DOG free screen.
I agree that Burley was biased in favour of Cameron.
Cameron did reasonably well against Jeremy but his performance in front of the audience was as if he knew the questions well in advance and had been rehearsing the answers He came across as a typical public school boy, arrogant and oily.
Miliband was a disappointment. He clearly hadn't researched questions that he should have known he would be asked and just fell apart as a result. In front of the audience I found him surprisingly good and warmed to him as a human being in a way I never have before.
I would say 50/50 for this first round, each leader having different strengths. Cameron the better politician, Miliband the more human of the two.
Very odd end to the Milliband / Paxo interview, with Jeremy asking Ed if he was alright, and Ed saying yes and then asking Jeremy if he was OK. This was after the formal end of the interview just as the end title music was starting.

Typical Sky cock up, the mic fader should have been shut by then.

Not necessarily a cockup. Some broadcasters have a habit of "accidentally" leaving the mic. on and the tape running in the hope that the interviewee will say something unguarded in the assumption that the interview is over.

Yup, I'm sure Sky were disappointed that neither Paxo or Miliband called each other bigots at the end. ;-)
Burley and Paxman was a very curious combination, she is not in the same league when it comes to political interviews. Sky would have done much better with Boulton or their political editor. I assume she was only there because she knows where the bodies are buried at Sky:D

Very true, not to mention "accidentally" leaving a very expensive radio mic attached to Gordon Brown.

On basis if his post-election performance in 2010, I don't think so:

Yes I heard that too. Disgusting.

would have been an infinite improvement

I did switch over during the breaks to watch The BBC's analysis.

I am not a Labour supporter but both my wife and I thought they gave Cameron a much easier ride than Milliband.
What I heard was "Lets see if they'll be applauding at the end of this 18 minute section".
