Why as a doctor who fan wouldn't you care about gallefrey base? Saved a lot of money on dvds etc thanks to advice on there. I only really use the frontios section though. Its a massive site, could spend all day on it.

Aside from being good for spoilers it just isn't much of a community apart from for a very select few. There are so many sub-forums it's hard to keep track of where to post something, and then so many regulations as to whether something's been posted in the wrong place or more commonly simply regarded as "off-topic". In terms of actually having a conversation, you often simply can't.
I'm glad the people there enjoy posting there as they do, but I can't commit to it as a fan myself. I enjoy talking about Doctor Who, but at the end of the day realise it is just a TV show and a bit of fun, whereas there it is taken incredibly seriously. A couple of times I've had sources of spoilers for the show - a couple accurate, a couple not - I bother to post them on there, but only after I've posted them on here which is a far better Doctor Who community (which admittedly goes a lot more dead than it used to between series).
Also, a minor pet peeve is that they delete tonnes of off-topic posts in certain threads, but then a mod will actually comment on the deleted posts so when it comes to reading back through a thread, the only people disrupting the topic in question are the mods. I don't need it droned down my throat constantly not to post off-topic, but that's what happens there. Again, sucking the fun out of actually talking about a TV show.
Comments
No mystery there.
Exactly.
If you don't care why come into the thread and comment?
God, it's like Clara Oswald's exit.
Whens that? Hope its soon.:)
Well you've just missed three. But don't worry, there'll be another one along in a minute.
...I meant as in who cares about Gallifrey Base, not who cares about this thread.
