If you was to kill 150 people tomorrow the media would report you was looking at and discussing Andreas Lubitz on an internet forum and that you had responded to a post about suicide.
That is how the media works it manipulates information and prints it how it wants you to read it.
It's now being reported that the captain was shouting "open the damn door" whilst trying to break it down with an axe.
I find it hard to believe that the passengers didn't realise there was anything wrong until the last seconds if that's the case.
I agree. They're bound to have heard one of the pilots shouting at the other. The passengers would likely have been worried until they saw that they were flying towards a mountain. They then would have started to become distressed, knowing that they were going to die.

I just can't imagine the horrible fear. Those school kids who didn't have their parents with them really plays on my mind.

I don't really care for the reasons why he did it, or what measures they put in place to try and stop it happening again, i just can't stop thinking about those passengers.
It was a horrible, awful, horrendous act that could've happened no matter what rules and regulations are in place.
I'm also not liking how much coverage he's getting - it's about time they start focussing on the victims, telling us about them. Especially the hero captain who tried to stop him.

I really don't believe he planned it, I think he found himself in charge of the plane over the area he loved to glide over, his issue with his eye condition came into his mind and he knew he would be banned from flying because of it and decided he wanted to end it there and then where he was happiest.

I really don't believe he planned it, I think he found himself in charge of the plane over the area he loved to glide over, his issue with his eye condition came into his mind and he knew he would be banned from flying because of it and decided he wanted to end it there and then where he was happiest.
He could just as easily have not been flying that day and gone hand gliding and killed himself or got in a car and crashed it but it was just that one moment of fate when he was called into work after getting bad news and found himself in a perfect situation to end it and have notority.
As is usual with these things fate played it's part.

Don't you think his prediction to his girlfriend about notoriety suggests an element of pre planning ?
I think there was an element of planning in all of this.
I wouldn't - he told he ex-girlfriend he would one day do something that would make people remember his name (or words to that effect) - it sounds like he planned it but maybe not specifically for that flight when he took the opportunity of the pilot leaving the cockpit.

I wouldn't. To me this was something he'd thought very carefully about & planned. IMO, he knew his intentions from the minute he discovered he'd be flying that plane.

When his something to remember me by statement was made he wasn't in the cockpit. A year ago. Nothing to do with voice recorders.
He still had to hope the pilot would leave the cockpit for that to work.
If planned there's still that element of fate.
Not really as he could of been planning this awhile and this was the first time he got the opportunity to pull this off .
