Be good to see Jack back at the Crucible, that is for sure, although the qualifying rounds are going to be pretty tough by the look of it.
He certainly lit up the tournament when he was beating Stephen Maguire and also achieving another Crucible first against Michael White in the next round - first frame forfeited for three misses...
The "Snooker Heaven" show at Sheffield Hallam Uni (with messrs Hearn, Davis and Murphy) - may be worth getting free audience tickets for if you're in Sheffield ;
Steve Davis attempts to pot the black he missed in the 1985 final on The One Show (and not on the BBC story but confirmed elsewhere - the final frame of that final in full on the Red Button the same night!!)
Jarvis Cocker doing a radio broadcast from the Winter Gardens studio on 3rd May - may clash with part of the final though.
Jack is back! Nutty old Poomjaeng's just done Robbo in a black ball thriller, 5-4, last 64, China Open that's got underway today.
That was quite an ending. Robbo should have used the rest on his final shot, but to be fair some of his positional shots were not up to his usual standard towards the end of the last frame.
Today Trump recorded his 338th competitive century, equalling at the age of 25 Steve Davis' career total.
incredible stuff but that is the modern game of course! he's now 9th in the table, started the season 15th. he's now the biggest riser this season (overtaking Liang Wenbo who has raised 5 places to 39th)

I'm sorry, I just love statistics!
I love statistics too! Trump equalling Davis career century record is a very tasty stat !
Jack whitewashes Jack as Poomjaeng 5-0's Lisowski. Don't know what it is with Lisowski, just when you think he's getting somewhere he has another setback. Suppose it's still comparatively early in his snooker career though, might still come good....
Just looking at the permutations for the final automatic qualifying spots for the Worlds (top 15 plus Ali Carter) based on the rankings after the PTC (assuming the 2013 PTC final events have had their deductions taken)
Stephen Maguire has 218,966 points. He would lose 20,000 (lost in the semi finals of 2013) and is now in the last 16 (8,000) so if he lost, he's net lose 12,000 so be on 206,966.
Michael White is on 188,020 points. He would lose 1,500 (lost in last 64) and is now in the last 16 (8,000) so if he lost, he would gain 6,500 and be on 194,520.
However if he got to the semis (21,500) he'd gain 20,000 points and be on 208,020 (so would be ranked 15th)
If it ended up being a White v Maguire final (they're in separate parts of the draw and it could happen!) it's 35,000 to runner-up, 85,000 to winner. It'd be winner take all but if White won that would do it for him.
Similar scenario if Robert Milkins (186,660) won - he loses 6,000 from the 2013 tournament but gains 8,000 currently. Milkins plays White in the next round - that's going to be tasty!!
Didn't expect Mad Jack to whitewash young Jack! Great result for him.
As for Lisowski, I hope he does come good eventually, he's too talented not to, he's also so great to watch when in form, just pure natural ability, similar to Ronnie.

Unfortunately he couldn't
Well played Joe though
Well done Joe though, his first major he has worked so hard for it.
Shame I missed that game, looked very tasty and obviously proved that way! He's improving all the time is Mr. Poomtastic! Rising the rankings!
Undoubtedly the most eye catching result of day one!

Poomjaeng is fun to watch!
one of the few players who gets away with being 'slow!

That's true. His off the wall personality seem to carry him along whilst he's deciding what to do shot-wise.
