It says the couple did not sign any official paperwork, so as, far as the Law is concerned, they aren't married. So, following this logic, my partner and I could have a big party and start wearing rings and tell everyone we were married afterward. We wouldn't be though, would we? Anyhow, I always thought he was gay, I thought it was fairly obvious.
I think it's a bit odd, actually. Two old men go through a ceremony and start wearing rings. Why bother, if they were happy before? Anyhow, hope they continue to be happy.
You know what, it's funny, but I know Barry is camp, but I never thought of him as gay.
I heard a 30-minute radio interview with him recently and was surprised to find he doesn't sound remotely camp or "showbiz". He actually came across as quite a down-to-earth, serious musician.
However, I have always thought he was probably gay. Congratulations to him on the wedding, if indeed there was one - remember, all these stories are still nothing more than "a source revealed".
It's weird how some, me included, thought that the fact he's gay could be spotted a mile off, but others didn't have a clue. Anyway, all the best to both of them.
There is actually nothing in this that says he is gay - he might be bi-sexual. He's certainly rumoured to have had several girlfriends.
Well marrying another man you have been with for 30 years is sort of a giveaway , but he may be bisexual or maybe he tried ladies and preferred men. Either way he is obviously very happy with his husband.
Picking females from the audience, holding their hands whilst singing love songs to them.
Singer 100s of songs about females and referring to himself in them: Most famously "Mandy".
So yes he has been purveying a persona of a straight man (I'm not stating that it's his fault in any way, but that's the nature of showbiz)
As for the 'Oh I don't talk about my private life' Whilst that is correct that he doesn't have to answer to anyone, the reason is that he at least needed to keep up the pretence that he was straight.
Tragic really as 99.9% of people including his fans have worked out by now that he is gay.
Just a shame that society dictates that you still can't be openly gay.
Society does not dictate anything, he made a choice. He wanted to appear straight to get the highest amount of money from sales he could, he made that choice. If that is all he had to do to get fame he was lucky, VERY lucky.

I always thought he was gay, did he really pretend to be straight or did he just not make his private life public as so many people do ? I am not sure if he married a lady as he wanted to or thought he had to or if he realised he was gay later. Whatever it was is his business .
As for society not dictating, tell that to gay footballers.
Well, if he's married this man, he is currently gay.
He has a girlfriend in the past that he wanted to marry. He could be either gay or bisexual. I suppose we would only know for sure if he confirmed what he is.
I'm not obsessed. I just have opinions. But I appear to have a stalker.:o
Believe me, if I was into the stalking business, you really wouldn't get a look in.
Now that we've clarified where we're coming from {or, at least, I have), why in the world would you start a 'are they an item?' thread about Walliams and Carr going on hols together?

Because the Walliams' story was in the newspapers (I didn't make it up). And his sexuality is always in question. And him going off on holiday with a bloke, instead of a woman is odd. To me.
If I had his money I'd be jetting off to Italy with a hot chick.

Not with some pale-faced, beady eyed bloke.
Are you for real? You talk as if these people need to send a memo round to get clearance from the public for going on holiday with who they want to.
Thankfully life has a little more variety than your fantasy chicks!
I'm gonna have to ask you to show your working out for that one...
Well if "society dictates that you still can't be openly gay", that's what society wants. Surely, if to be a socialist is to respect what society wants, then you cannot allow the Tory-few to dictate to the socialist-majority how to live their lives?
I'm just trying to explore the logic of the poster I replied to, which I found confusing.

Me neither.
It was news to me.
Isn't that socialism at work though?

I meant with the bouffant wig Barry wears, his glitzy clothes, that type of camp.

Yes, he is obviously currently gay in the way you want to define it. And finally happy being publicly gay. Are you ok with that?
Cos it seems you're on the lookout for the gays everywhere, judging by your recent threads and comments.
Are you a bit obsessed?

So, according to this person it must be okay if we can look at a. Smooth asses b. Clothed asses.
That's still a lot of asses to look at and still be classed as sane.

Bisexual people don't stop being bi once they're married

It would be nice if Barry could confirm whether or not he did in an interview.
