Don't know about the others, but Emu is still owned by the family of Rod Hull although I have no idea if it is still the original puppet that they used in the 2007 show....

If you think about it, now that Keith Harris has died, Orville has died too. No one else will be able to revive him.

a year or two back I heard an interview with a female vent who said that there is a place in america where the puppets are retired if no longer needed - she had been there, but I can't remember where it was.
edit - I was typing at the same time as the previous respondent!

It wasn't the same Emu as the original was ruined as Rod Hull kept it in the attic in a old box.

As daft as it sounds he hated and was jealous of Emu as he relised Emu was the star and was the ones fans cared about and anyone could have done it.

Just like any other property of a dead person it goes to whoever they left it to or next of kin.

If it's something like Sooty then Harry past that onto Matthew before he died and then Matthew in turn past the act onto Richard Cadell.

If of course the family doesn't want to carry on the act then they can keep the puppet, sell it or don't it to a museum.

Typical split personality where he saw the Emu as a separate entity even to the point where anyone could do it. The fact was that Emu's personality was just an extension of Rod's. So no not anyone could do it.

I have heard that if he didn't like someone he used to genuinely hurt them on purpose when "Emu bit" them then blame it on Emu and not in a joking way like he acted like it wasn't him at all.

Sooty was sold to a Japanese media company before being sold to Richard Cadell.

I know "schnorbitz" was sold by the family of Bernie Winters, but
    1) It was a dog not a puppet
    2) It was the name only, as the "original" dog had died.

Kermit would sort of come under this. He became an asset of Henson productions, the "muppets" were eventually sold to Disney.

However you would think that puppets such as "spit the dog", "nooky bear", "Tim the brick" had a worth and would be sold on.

There is a place in America were retired puppets go, called Vent-Haven. Nina Conti didna show about it. Maybe Orville will be sent there, although I expect he will stay with the family if indeed he belonged to Keith (and now his estate)

EDIT: Just noticed someone has mentioned this!
