My ears are burning haha. Yes I'm sorry, I heard about him on another site, didn't realize it was a work of internet fiction until I googled him. Sorry for the confusion.:)
One mystery that, as far as I know, has never been solved, is the case of the hoof prints in Dawlish, Devon in the winter of 1855. They stretched for miles across country, stopped at high walls and continued the other side. They went over roofs etc too. What was it? if someone was having a joke they went to extremes.
On the 'Creepiest things that have happened to you' thread a woman posted a story about how she got lost around Piccadilly tube station, and was taken to an old fashioned cafe in the station, which was not there when she looked for it later. It sounded like a timeslip to me. Does anyone else recall that post?
No, I haven't seen that post but then I've never really looked at that thread. But it sounds similar to things that have happened in Bold Street. Did you see the links I posted earlier?

Yes i did, thanks for those. i watched a video about the Waterstones one, that was weird, and another one about a man on a lunchbreak who saw something weird, the street changed into a Victorian one then back again. It's very creepy

Yes. That's one of Doll Feet's. Might sound a timeslip to you, but it sounded to me she misremembered the location.
Maybe I'm just a complete sceptic but I always find the timeslip stories hard to believe. Either someone is making things up to sound mysterious or they were mistaken.
Yes, I think they are all the same thing, just different names. I have read that this figure can come to people at night, and makes them terrified !
Slenderman and Shadow People are very different ... there are thousands of 'sightings' of shadow people/ men-in-hats, whereas Slenderman originated on Creepy Pasta.

Yes you are right. The account I saw of a creepy man, from the Datalounge site must have been a shadow person. But it was so scary, the hairs on my neck stood up.
I first posted this in "What's the Creepiest Thing to Ever Happen to You" and was totally ignored :D
Just one more shot at seeing if anyone has had anything similar happen to them, as I said, it wasn't "creepy" but weird in the extreme and it's totally 100% true:-
I've been wondering for some time whether to post this, as I have been told that the story is "lame" among other adjectives, however both my friend and I can honestly say it's the strangest most inexplicable thing that's ever happened to us.
Three of us were in a bar in Krakow in Poland, chatting and on our (first) beer. My friend Jane, who does ceramics, mentioned how nice a large pot was that was attached to the wall. I turned around and saw it clearly and mentioned that a neighbour of mine has some just like it on her fence and when they have plants in them they look lovely. The pot was empty, 100%, no doubt in our minds at all.
My friend then got her phone out to take a photo to try and make one when she got home. This would have taken around 10 seconds. I carried on chatting to the other person in our group who had not/could not see the pot because of the position of her seat. Jane then slowly tapped me on the shoulder and said "don't look, but was there anything in that pot when you looked at it?" I said no, and she told me to turn around - the pot has long flowing plants coming out of it and was full of earth. I should say that this pot was about 10' up on the wall and would need a ladder to reach it.
We freaked out. I went and asked a waitress if the pot had ever had plants in it, she said yes and I thought it was solved (though it would still have been an incredibly quick total emptying of the pot, i.e about 10 seconds!) but then she added, "about 6 months ago". We were asking total random strangers sitting in the bar if they had seen anything, or if they had seen plants in the pot a minute ago, of course nobody had the slightest idea what we were talking about.
Like I said, in the scheme of things, not exactly creepy but still the oddest most inexplicable thing that has ever happened to either of us.
Is it just me or does this story not make sense? I have read it about three times and find it baffling. I can't make out if they were shocked that the pots were empty, because in the first instance they were empty when they first looked at them?

I very much doubt it.
There are plenty of theories about this.
My personal opinion is that is it overblown mythological bullshit.

I’ve researched this story for many years and it should NOT be dismissed as ‘overblown mythological bullshit’! >:(>:(>:(
The hoof-prints went on for many miles. Way too far for any human hoaxer to have been involved.
However, I don’t believe the prints were made by the cloven-hooves of Satan either.
They were most likely made by a single-minded horse;.......... with a devilish sense of humour.
It’s been suggested that the horse was probably inebriated and on its way home from the pub;....... certainly, there were reports of several traffic-cones being rearranged or stolen along the route.

Briefly they claimed to see a previously empty plant pot growing with plants. Personally I think it was drunk people not seeing straight.

You're a sceptic if you doubt accepted opinions. Timeslips ain't accepted opinion, therefore you're no sceptic. Merely rational.

I remember feeling really lonely on my first week after starting at uni in London coming from all the way up north. I was at some traffic lights waiting to cross the road and standing next to me was a guy from my maths class at college back home. He'd decided to apply for London too, although to a different college. We were just in the same place at the same time amongst all these millions of people. We walked around for a bit and had a coffee which made me feel better.
Not exactly off the scale in terms of a mystery but sometimes a part of me thinks little coincidences like this are meant to happen.

Having come to London also from a small town up north it really is astonishing how menu times I've ran into people from work or friend of a friend in some random places all over London. When I first came here I never imagined you would run into anyone as it is so huge but it happens a lot.

You could say the same about many things though. I personally would never truly believe something unless I saw it with my own eyes, and even then I'd probably wonder if I'd imagined it!

My friend and I were returning from Paris and were in London awaiting our bus heading home to Scotland. We thought we would have a quick look at Buckingham palace while we were waiting and on the walk along from Victoria bus station we met her neighbour who was walking in the opposite direction.

.......... horse-shit maybe.
Yes, looks like it. But it's still a great story

Maybe there's a cryptic clue in the fact that it was a "pot plant"! ;-)

I agree - a very entertaining mystery whatever the reality of the actual events.
I remember first seeing the story as a very young child watching Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World.
I bought the book as well.
I still have it - although it is a very small edition as it was from a book club - remember those? ^_^
They didn't have telly then
