I have two all-time favourite movie villains and they are Darth Vader and Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker from The Dark Knight.

Who is YOUR favourite movie villain of all time?

Let me know. Thanks.

Chosen from Total Recall, Clarence Bodicker from Robocop and Biff Tannen from Back to the Future. Guess who is stuck in the 80s?

    Voldemort.

He was exactly how I imagined him when I read the books and Ralph Fiennes did a great job in the role. Just the way he says Avada Kedavra is so chilling.

I've a lot of problems with the later Harry Potter films but Ralph Fiennes got it exactly right for me... the exact balance between being a monster and still maintaining some of that humanity in his performance. I think his best performance was his first one too in The Goblet of Fire, a shame as that's one of my least favourite films in the series.

As for other villains I'd note...

Maleficent - Angelina Jolie in Maleficent
The Witch - Meryl Streep in Into the Woods
Davy Jones - Bill Nighy in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3
The Joker - Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight
The Phoenix - Famke Janssen in X-Men

Agreed. You could believe that he was the same Tom Riddle who appeared in The Chamber Of Secrets.

The demon Pazuzu in 'The Exorcist' and Toby in 'Paranormal Activity' are pretty nasty.
I also thought Freddy Krueger was effective.

This guy, Andy Robinson portrayed him perfectly, he was a nutter, and you could feel it. Scarier than any horror villain out there.

I've always loved John Lithgow's character from Cliffhanger. So evil. So brilliantly acted.

I've always had a soft spot for Alan Rickmans portrayal of The Sheriff of Nottingham in 'Robin Hood'.

As a kid, I was equally terrified and fascinated by The Child Catcher in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.
