In the early 1970's Yorkshire TV would screen Division 4 (Police series) at about 11pm on a Sunday night.
What was funny about it was in order to get no reflections into the cameras all the glass was removed from doors and windows!
Even earlier I think ITV screened something called 10 Town.(Ch10 was the Tv station that produced it) a kids programme. I think Spotty Muldoon was in it!

Chopper Squad from the 70's which used to be on a Sunday dinnertime, it was a Aussie version of Baywatch

I used to love this and have still got the Corgi models of the helicopter, jeep and jetboat somewhere.

I never watched this show myself but another Aussie soap also shown briefly on BBC was Out of the Blue.

A lot of people still remember it so it's not forgotten but I used to love a kids show from about 1989 called Round The Twist about this family that lived in a lighthouse and the strange things that used to happen to them.

Here's a real obscurity from the 70s - Phoenix Five - an Aussie science fiction series. The special effects budget never seemed to get out of single figures :)

Why are people mentioning stuff like Neighbours, Home & Away and Skippy..they are hardly 'forgotten' Aussie TV shows

I remember a show called The Magic Boomerang, absoluttely loved it, not sure if any else does?? or maybe it was all a dream...

I thought Heartbreak High was a decent show, well acted, and some good storylines.

I remember A Country Practice from when I used to skive off school. The theme tune used to make me want to go to sleep :-)

Oh, I used to love A Country Practice! Fatso the wombat! :kitty:

Not Australian, but New Zealand - I remember Shortland Street, another medical drama IIRC.

It's strange, I wonder why we don't get more Aus/NZ drama on our screens. It can't be THAT bad, no worse than some of our homegrown reality stuff anyway!

Nice to nominate but hardly forgotten, next to the Australian soaps he's probably the most remembered Aussie import.

It wasn't a dream. I remember it too, I always wanted a boomerang that made time stand still.

    Dossa and Joe
Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left
    The Girl from Tomorrow

I remember Heartbreak High had such a diverse and multicultural cast, it was a real stark contrast to the all-white (well mostly) Neighbours.
