Just breaking now
Leicester have sacked boss Nigel Pearson because of what they describe as "fundamental differences" between the manager and the club's owners.

He should have gone after he throttled that player on the pitch!
Meh it was mainly his fault they were in the position to as need a massive recovery to survive in the first place.
The only surprise is it took this long and he didnt go during the season.
Have the board and Pearson never seen eye to eye?
Really strange timing as Pre season starts...
And the award for "Over reaction post of the year goes to......"
If Leicester go down it will be because they gained less points than 17 other clubs in the Premier League not because of what they did in Thailand.
WAY TO GO LEICESTER CITY.
That's almost certain - biased dad with anger management issues vs board who were already divided on whether he should still be there.
That's irrelevant. Managers should be allowed the opportunity to rectify any errors they make over the cause of a season. Pearson was given that chance, and took it with both hands.
The goal for any promoted team is to stay up, by any means necessary. Leicester did that. That means that their season, and Pearson's too, was a huge success.
Yes, it's exceptionally easy to keep newly promoted teams out of the bottom 3 for the duration of the season and any manager who can't do it is rubbish.
Surely it will be "the best coach in the Premier League", John Carver.
Just because he kept them up cannot mean he keeps his job if he acts in ways that are not in keeping with the thoughts of the people who pay the wages
'Arry seems to have lost his energy and spark the past 2-3 years and that always seemed an important ingredient in his successes for me. No idea who they'll go for, but I don't think it should be him.
I suppose Neil Lennon will be linked.
And Martin O'Neill
Pearson will have done a Raoul Moat by the end of the week.
I think the poster is suggesting that Leicester had the best chance of doing that with Pearson in charge therefore if it was the antics in Thailand that led to his sacking then the guys responsible for that will have to take some blame.
He placed his faith in the team that got us promoted, even though it was generally recognised we needed to strengthen in certain areas. There was minimal investment last summer when the owners publicly stated sizeable funds were available.
The one player who did sign with an amount of premier league experience, Marc Albrighton, spent most of the season on the bench or in the stands to finally nail down a first team place and perform exceptionally well during our run in.
He changed tactics week after week or persisted with a diamond formation which just wasn't working.
Yes we didn't lose a game by more than two goals but when you set up to keep a clean sheet by playing 5-4-1 that happens. It was only when we had nothing to lose and went with three at the back and get on the front foot that we came good. An act of desperation not a managerial masterstroke.
Throw in rows with journalists, fans, opposition players and his son's behaviour in Thailand and he was a walking PR disaster.
Yeah, good points. There was a strong argument for moving him on, especially when there are managers available who you can bank on to keep the side in the PL next season.
I suppose its a bit like Martinez when he was at Wigan. Was here a good manager for the way he did the "Great Escape" every year or was he really quite rubbish cos they didn't start playing until Easter every season?
RM is a confusing one, I still think we're nowhere nearer to knowing whether he's decent or not.
His team have a superb run in, but have played rubbish the first 2/3 of the season
He wins the cup, but then also gets relegated
He has a very good first season at Everton, and then a rank average second season
Nice friendly guy, terrible hairline
Everything seems to balance out.
