Rachel Talalay is still great news, though because she was by far the show's best director last year.
It won't be a surprise if and when it happens. They will make big news of it the moment it's a done deal so it won't be until S10 at the earliest. Which means you can stop worrying about it for at least six-nine months I expect .
I hope we get a Jurassic World/Park type of adventure this season or at the very least the Christmas special. Which let me remind everyone is the 50th anniversary of the first Christmas Day episode. Having seen the film, it was spectacular, explosive and everything Doctor Who should be at the moment. Although I know the show is smaller in scale, it shouldn't shy away from being big and spectacular in any way. The Christmas Day special last year was disappointing (for me) so can only hope that Moffat can write big, rather than small.

Indeed .An utterly bizarre post. Its a shame some people totally miss the whole point of what DW is and was and what makes it so special. Part of its beauty is it never tries to aspire to be trashy popcorn blockbuster Hollywood nonsense. We get plenty of that. And when the show has erred towards that sort of thing the results are laughable (Voyage of the Damned). Doctor Who should never try to play in the same ball park as Jurassic World. It's not that show. Never has been. And hopefully never will.
Jurassic World was lazy derivative studio production line nonsense reliant on a combination of nostaalgia, obscene amounts of money and a very likeable lead actor. It was soulless dollar driven shite. If anything Hollywood should be learning from Doctor Who. Not other way round.
I did say 'type' of adventure, not necessarily an episode set in a theme park (we've had a couple of those anyway), but maybe something that can thrill me and the rest of the kids watching. Jurasic World is a terrific film and is bound to be on most people's Download/Blu-Ray/DVD lists this Christmas. I can't see any reason why Doctor Who can't do an 'action' type story, being chased by monsters/mad scientists etc. I'm not saying write Jurassic World for Doctor Who, just hoping the show could be a lot more braver in story choice.
I don't want to sit through another Season 6 again. Please!!!!!!!!

In what way is ripping off Jurassic World a brave story choice. How is a boring paint by numbers 'chased by monsters' a brave story choice?
Listen is a brave story choice.
Midnight is a brave story choice.
Logopoliis is a brave story choice.
Blink is a brave story choice.
The God Complex is a brave story choice.
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was harmless drivel and seems to be what you're keen for.

How about let Doctor Who be its own show?
There's already the Jurassic Park films for whenever any of us fancy watching people get chased by dinosaurs.
Sorry. That sounded ungracious. You do amazing work keeping this thread updated but it is true theres been nothing but scraps this year and also certain people with barely disguised agendas keep popping in to try and derail the thread and alas like a moth to a flame I can't help being drawn in.
You could have said 'leaf you to it' to join in with the jolly banter.( Won't be long before we get a post about a LEGO 'Forest of the Night' special edition box set)
Really do appreciate your dedication to this thread. I hate trawling through the internet looking for snippets and photos and you bring the best stuff here. You care so that I don't have to.
And SF81...you are delightful joyless horror at times.

Arthur Dent?
Doctor Who is nothing like Jurassic World.

They were filming in here, today.
Some random pics from set.

Wow hold the front page! Chairs! And a table! Spoilers!!!!!!!!
Perhaps the thread will stop taking tangents when we actually get news and spoilers beyond 'they were filming in a forest' .
You never know, it could be a jungle next time!
Hopefully with Chris Pratt and Jeff Goldblum.
Fair enough, then. I'll leave you to it.

I think most of us appreciate your contributions to this thread, man. There's gonna be a lot coming up as we near broadcast. Don't leave us! ;-)
Life...uh...life finds a way. ;-)
There is of course a Lego Jurassic Park game that recently came out!
If there was a like function on here, then this type of quote would get one.
Seriously CD93 is one of my fav posters on the Doctor Who forum, it's not his fault that security has kept spoilers to a minimum.
I keep getting annoyed by the continually derailments and arguments, let alone someone with actual information to give.
Please keep up the good work CD93, this forum would be a much poorer place without you.

I know. My mum bought it as a family game. It's great fun.
That's sums me up quite nicely! Joyless Horror.
