The Minstrel was 1977 (I backed it:))
1972 Derby was Roberto
1970 King George was Nijinsky
All of the above 3 were Lester on board:)
1956 Arc was Ribot
1965 Derby was Sea Bird
1965 Arc was Sea Bird
I'll be impressed with anyone who knows the 1996 Gordon Carter Handicap Stakes.
Maybe it was dettori's last winner when he went through the card. Or lester's last winner.
And no jumpers either, or arkle's first gold cup would be there, and loads more jumping races. (Edit. Flat races!)
I remember having a fair punt on that and wasn't exactly brimming with confidence during running.:o
I love the way Carson eases him up in the last couple of strides as if to suggest he has won comfortably.:D
the OP explained that the list was compiled in 2006 !
HARBINGER - King George 2010
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo7pEsp2WKc
won by 11 lengths in a record time against top quality opposition.
and FRANKEL in the 2,000 guineas 2011
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghUY0k4YX1k&list=PLudnac77QUpY7JURZj4aSQ6WTf_8GpmuU
made the rest of the field look like selling platers from halfway.
Just googled it, well done your first guess is correct, the winning horse was Fujiyama Crest.
It was, amusingly the latter was the uncle of the former and a year younger.
Dancing Brave Arc win
Arazi breeders cup Juvenile
Interesting horse
He won a Listed race on his 2yo debut then only ran another 3 times, winning the Derby on his 3yo debut, the King George and the Arc
That was it.........4 runs
If he'd won the Dante and say the Eclipse as well he'd be regarded as one of the greatest of all time but with only 4 career runs he's usually overlooked and is a bit of a forgotten horse
By the way......his trainer was shot dead a few months before the Derby
