    The Everly Brothers.

Thought they'd died years ago but one only died last year and the other is still alive. Not surprising though as it not that old by today's standards. late 70s

he was on that BBC4 series on Rock n Roll over the last few weeks.......I wouldn't have recognised him if they hadn't put his name on screen

Bill Haley was on it as well........

I thought I was going to astonish myself and find that Lizzie was still alive, but she isn't - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheila_Florance - Mind you, I'm now astonished that she's been dead 24 years, and was only 70 at her very oldest in Prisoner, and 62 when it started...

I'm sure Aubrey Morris has died at least once a year for the last decade.

Looking at that wiki, she would've been 99 on the 24th of this month...

An American student magazine once reported that Paul McCartney died in 1966 and had been replaced in the Beatles by a lookey-likey.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_is_dead

Before that, in 1897, the New York Journal reported that the writer Mark Twain had died. When he heard of this, Twain demanded the right of denial to this in the same paper and made his famous quote: "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

Other famous people who have had premature obituaries printed include:

    P T Barnum
    George H W Bush
    Fidel Castro
    Sean Connery
    Alice Cooper
    Johan Cruyff
    Ernest Hemingway
    Bob Hope (twice)
    Rudyard Kipling
    Nelson Mandela
    Pele
Jimmy Saville (in 1994. Some might have cause to regret it wasn't true)
    Britney Spears

The list is actually quite lengthy. Moral of the story: Don't believe everything you read in the papers.

I didn't realise that Omar Sharif was still alive until last week. Thought he'd died in the 1980s.

    .

Without doubt one of THE best conspiracy theories ever, and helped in no small amount by the fact that McCartneys entire head does in fact appear to have completely changed shape...;-)

Even the Queen has been a victim of a couple of premature obituaries the last few years.

Apparently Kirk Douglas is still alive? Last time I saw him the poor sod looked like a projected hologram, he was so thin frail and translucent.

I was shocked to hear Val Doonican had died...I thought he had died years ago. I was also convinced Zsa Zsa Gabor was gone too but apparently not.
