No, it's telling us that the old Norrie wouldn't have been behaving the way she was, but that now she's herself again.
It was one of the easier things to understand imo.
Yes, I fully understood the BIB, Rosie, my dear. You don't need to explain that to me.
The question I'm posing is, why did it take turning down sex with Hunter for Norrie to snap out of the alien mind-control? That's what I'm getting at. Is sex tied to the mind-control?
We found out recently that Christine uses Oxytocin (otherwise known as the Love Hormone) in the form of purple slime to control her subjects, so it would make sense I suppose.
It certainly explains why Christine is intent on breaking up Barbie/Julia and Norrie/Joe, because Joe and Julia are resistant to the Oxytocin therefore resistant to her mind-control. She's scared that it will spread to the rest of the "kinship".
With all the drones ambling along whistling I kept expecting them to break out into "Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, It's off to work we go!"
So if the cocoons can cure stab in the side, why couldn't it cure broken spine? And besides, Hunter is better eye-candy than Queen trout-pout.
It was LOL funny when all the town's folk were waiting for Christine and whistling. You can just tell the writers wrote that just to be kitsch.
I liked the start of the episode showing what happened when the dome was created. Although it did feel contrived to fit how the series is going rather than planned from the start.
I'm still not keen on all the melodrama. I want action that involves moving the mystery along.

Well it's a study in how to drag out an hour story into at least 3 series. It's feed you a bit (even if it was written after the event as you say) and fill the rest with 'Who will Barbie shag this week?'.

Hunter's already had his quota of "mendiness", when he found that he no longer needed glasses. Also, being just an "average Joe", he's not important enough to use up the crystal's dwindling energy.

There are quotas?
You should be a writer for the show - they could do with your ideas.
I'm probably in the minority but I'm really enjoying Season 3. Its still OTT with some ropey dialogue and acting but I much prefer this season over Season 2.
I don't think Barbie can get back with Julia now, too much has gone on. I was hoping the story would be wrapped up by the end of season 3 but now i'm not sure because Barbie is supposed to be the hero of the story and right now he's not really a main character, this tells me they plan on doing an awful lot more stuff under that dome before Barbie comes round full circle or maybe they wont have him do that but either way, it needs time to be done right, i don't think it can be done in another 5/6 episodes.
So the secret to stop you being a drone is emotion but not the type of anger emotion that Junior was showing when he was fighting in the tunnels. That's different because the script says so! Can big Jim get through to him for the father/son hug that cures him and makes us all vomit?
Can Barbie and (any other random female(s)) repopulate the earth?
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers (and two girls) Viva la revolution!
I don't think that has happened at all. The pink stars falling originally were a vision and predicted. I and many others believe that those pink stars and destruction are merely illusions by Christine and that the real world is still going on as normal outside of the dome.
Everyone has their own trigger and weak point and for Barbie it is being the hero, that's what he does, as soon as someone is in need he's off like a shot playing the hero. The difference is up until now everyone in the town was trying to help each other and only a few were "bad" so anytime Barbie did need to help someone it genuinely was for the greater good because he would always be helping a "good" person. Showing those visions of meteors and fires and everything proved to him he can't help them at all. Christine will take care of Sam thanks to Junior and that leaves Jim/Joe/Norrie, 2 of which are kids and wont be any trouble to take care of....or so they think.
The writing of Barbie's character just seems weird at the moment - I know in RL no-one can be a hero all the time, but in drama, they usually can. You can usually rely on them to be the one with the right answers. He's not that at all right now.

It's a standard device in drama: Barbie is drifting from hero mode to drone mode and back again. That creates uncertainty in the viewer as to whether he can save the day or not. Then just when all is lost, he can charge in with the cavalry waving the star spangled banner to save all of humanity.
Quite a good episode, though the constant timeline jumping got a bit confusing for no real reason. Refreshing to not have blooming Christine wandering around for an hour! (Saying that, her sidekick is equally as annoying!)
They're blatantly going to make it to Season 4 though!
What worries me is that this hasn't been addressed. it would be nice to know if a season 4 is happening otherwise it would be nice to have the story wrapped up.

I thought that was the main reason to watch it.

Lol, true, true. Fair point .
So what did you think of episode 5?
It's all gone 'Tommy Knockers' for me with with Marg reprising her role in that series.
I liked the attempt to move things out of the dome with the Alaska footage.
And I always like the interaction between Red and Big Jim.
I would just prefer the show was about a bigger picture (such as the earth being destroyed) rather than the petty stuff about their relationships.
Barbie and the kid who can't act just happened to get past all those guards and rescue Christine without a problem?
Sam is so angry at Christine he wants to kill her, but chooses to stab her lightly in the side while he's hugging her? Lawl.

Also I liked how they didn't actually just end the episode this week down the caves but had a bonus scene of Jim off to look for his dog
It did seem to end on a funny note with the cliff-hanging Jimbo's doghunt.
Well it was over-rated anyway!

This show is going from the sublime to the ridiculous. The whistling is so funny but in a WTF way.
Got no idea what is going on any more.
Which was a bit odd considering the dog was following him everywhere until he accepted it:)
