Is DS home of Sky Propaganda?

Call me cynical (okay don't, that's a rhetorical question) but I'm certainly not naive and it would appear to me that Digital Spy is possibly sponsered by Sky?
I say this because lately this forum is completely boring me with all the anti BBC propaganda, it's boring me with slating ITV, it's boring me when BT have the temerity to charge £3 extra for the Champions League - the best competition in the world whilst Sky had the rights.
But you never ever hear about anyone complaining, nor the website even, that Sky is responsible for escalating monthly sports costs, they don't allow access to the top shows on Sky Atlantic, despite them throwing their toys out the pram if BT don't allow them access to Fibre Optic.
I recall over the years that Digital Spy has been invited to Sky HQ to test out the new boxes yet I've never seen any gushing on this site over things like Tivo and Virgins On Demand Service, which quite frankly is astonishingly better than Sky's antiquated offering. Perhaps it's similar to when News International would curry favours with political parties by giving them favourable coverage in return for certain policies, but it seems that this place has definitely been influenced by Sky's incentives in the past.
I suppose you could see this thread at re-addressing the balance, but it hardly tips the scale considering the amount of ABSB on this forum (Anything But Sky Bashing)
Just today there's a headline about Sky' impending 4K release and you click on it and there's been an update with Sky basically saying there's nothing to substantiate such rumours.
So to summarise, Sky have completely damaged football from the cost stand point in the UK, the cost to watch football is quite frankly ridiculous and they keep their top shows under lock and key with Sky Atlantic, whilst at the same time moaning when other companies keep their products/technologies under lock and key.
Similary, there used to be lots more Champions League on ITV but then Sky got the rights limiting ITV to one game a week. Whereas whilst it's now all on BT, they will actually be showing games for free. Something Sky never did.
Sky also seemingly have no honour to the integrity of the sport and so if they don't have the rights to something, they will simply use an event they do have to damage the other. When they had the FA Cup for instance it was a return to the 'glory days', best competition in the world etc. But when they lost the FA Cup, They had/have no qualms in pitting games against it and giving it limited coverage on Soccer Saturday.
Also their coverage now is so po faced, so serious, so mind numbingly boring that I simply shudder at the thought of watching their once fine pre- and post match analysis.

If anything, these forums are populated by middle Englanders for whom the ridiculously left wing, PC, BBC can do nothing wrong.
Football was always going the pay TV route, if it hadn't been Sky it would have been someone else.
Tried switching to Virgin Media last week, they couldn't beat the price I was paying for Sky - so they are all as bad as one another - but for some reason only Sky gets a slating.
No......?
Why would Sky show matches free when they shared the contract with ITV?
I expect BT have a clause in their contract to show a certain amount of matches FTA, as thry have exclusivity.

OP: "I am anti Sky here for a moan"
The standard response of the guilty.
The ironic thing is on most forums people are classing those with Sky as benefit scroungers.
Yes Sky gets a small amount of criticism but is dwarfed by the pro-Sky propaganda in this forum. It reminds me of my father's reaction to me coming home from a football match that had finished 10-1. "Well, it wasn't all one-sided".
As for Sky being the dominant player in broadcasting you really need to read the figures on BARB's website:
http://www.barb.co.uk/whats-new/weekly-viewing-summary
In reach and average weekly viewing the PSB broadcasters overwhelm Sky, despite the lies, sorry propaganda posted in forums like this. Pay-TV is still a minority medium.
SKY - you have to pay for stuff you don't want to get stuff you do
ITV - free but no-one's bothered
4 - Free-ish, used to be good
5 - free but uses up time in your life that you won't get back
DAVE/YESTERDAY etc - Free but you see your life flashing in front of you
YOUTUBE - free and good if you can catch stuff before takedown
VIMEO - free and the place to go to to watch stuff that Youtube took down
PORN - free or paid and all that we've got to watch as TV's so rubbish.
There you have it, we hate everything (except porn)
It's just that none of those get a lot of viewers worth of note.:D
Ian.
I'm so surprised there is no Sky HD porn packages. Who pays Sky for SD porn?
Not wishing to be rude or pervy. But who pays for porn? Yea there's certainly some great stuff online for a monthly subscription. But there's also so much for free that won't fill your computer with viruses.
