It is one of Scotland’s most historic firms, whose foil-wrapped tea cakes delight tastebuds the world over.
But Tunnock’s has incurred the wrath of cybernats after rebranding the sweet treat as British, with its traditional Lion Rampant motif missing from a new advertising campaign in England.
The promotion, which has appeared on the London Underground, also describes the product as ‘Tunnock’s Great British Tea Cake’.
On the ‘Expats for Scotland Independence’ Facebook page, one poster declared: ‘Tunnock’s are no longer (and never were) Scottish. They campaigned for a No vote. Don’t buy them ever again.’
‘Cybernat2015’ tweeted: ‘Boycott Tunnock’s. F****** traitors. Don’t buy their sh**** teacakes or anything else. Scumbags.’

It's crazy how bonkers people become because of Nationalism and a want to be the victim of an anti-Scotland agenda, to go as far as calling for boycotts of Scottish companies because of their promotional material.
I've bought Tunnocks Teacakes in the past and I didn't even consider where they were from.
That is the DM article title.
believe me, that's a high quality statement by SNP standards.
what's the SNP got to do with this AT ALL eejit?
only one dork has mentioned it, and even though they don't explicitly say they are "made in scotland", i consider them to be wholly scottish as they are made here!
but for how much longer .....
They never fail to disappoint.
So what? Just because they are ignorant and misleading does not mean it should be repested
As a member of several Scottish politics groups I can assure you that, "only one dork has mentioned it" is a load of rubbish. It's quite a common sentiment among nats atm and is being discussed by many.
It's not particularly misleading.
apart from the fruit ones
You don't get much dafter than a DM article.
Yes. Boyd Tunnock backed the NO campaign during the referendum.
Name calling other posters is against DS T&Cs. But nothing else can be expected from someone so defensive of the SNP.
Which is no reason to boycott.
It's a sectarian boycott.
*looks at a couple of people in this thread*
It's just some "cyberNats" getting their sporrans in a fankle :-D
They're a pain in the arse that lot.
