Can anyone recommend a decent instant messenger for windows 10?

Our small business has a network of 8 PC's, all running windows 10 and until recently , we were using Yahoo messenger to communicate with each other. I don't like the new updated Yahoo messenger and was wondering if anyone could recommend an instant messenger service that works well on windows but also available to be used on iOS and macs as well?

    Facebook Messenger? Has it's own web address so you don't need to go into "Facebook" but has apps as well...
    Twitter DMs
    Slack (https://slack.com/) aimed at teamwork, and I think is a frontend to IRC. Well worth a look.

    Probably loads more. Yahoo Messenger was a dinosaur years ago, I'm surprised it lasted this long...

    Google Hangouts would be my choice.

    Edit: isn't iOS and mac the same thing?

    No, it isn't. iOS is mobile, Mac would be OSX. You're out.

    Yep, Skype is another good vote. I'd forgotten that one.

    Just use any SIP VoIP client. Works on all platforms. My favourite is Linphone, but there are others and different ones can usually communicate with each other. You have IM, audio and video plus interface with "normal" phones if you want it. Unlike Skype or Yahoo you are not using a proprietory system.

    Skype for Business is what you should use alongside Office 365. The integration between Exchange, the Office suite and the Skype for Business service is great!

    You can use it as your virtual PBX as well as for IM.

    OK, thanks for the update. Personally I wouldn't go near anything by Apple, so am totally ignorant of which OS is which.
