I know PWL had a few songs done by other artists in their stable before they became more known by others i.e. Mandy Smith did Got To Be Certain before Kylie but now some of their back catalogue has made it onto streaming services I've just found out Princess (Say I'm Your Number One) did If It Makes You Feel Good on her album before Donna Summer did on Another Place and Time.
I have to give Shaggy 10/10 for sampling the original in his version.
As I'm sort of half watching the UB40 documentary on BBC 4 now I'd also suggest their version of Kingston Town is undoubtedly better known than Lord Creator's.

i think its a generation thing though.... yes us oldies know roberta flacks version, but that was over 20 years before the fugees who made it a far bigger hit for a younger generation. all i can say is 'one time'.... awful as it is, its a hook that roberta flack never had (nor needed).

The original only got to number 3, whereas the Jules/Andrews version is famous as probably the most miserable ever Christmas No 1.
