Looking forward to this, a two-part drama based on the kidnapping of Shannon Matthews.
I think Sheridan Smith is a wonderful actress.

Then don't.
Cue Ash. ;-)
Interesting, as soon as I heard the subject matter I thought typical ITV fodder for the dim of brain.
However no ads, and a small chance of Sherry getting her baps out [ she's a serious thesp now you know ] I might give it a go.
We shall see however whether the writer/s give the awful Matthews family a soft or hard time.
was Julie the woman on the One show last night? I only caught the end of the interview
No, the woman on the One Show was a detective.
Ah, thanks
She's 18 now and has got a completely new life so she can choose whether to watch it or not. I'm sure she has had plenty of emotional support over the years and hopefully she is old enough to make her own decisions.
I think the programme is concentrating more on the group who were looking for her rather than Shannon herself.
I will give a go and if I don't like it, then I will switch off.
You could start watching and see how it goes; a sensitive subject, always is when the subject is children but from what I've read it isn't gratuitous. I will give it a go, I can always switch it off if I can't take it.
I feel sorry for Shannon who apparently has no memories of her abduction because she was kept sedated. That's a blessing but now she is grown up she must know what happened and may even watch it. I do feel her identity must be protected, and her feelings.
Edit just looked up thread
Do you think they got the accents spot on as dont know what people from Dewsbury sound like
Theres some that sound rather dodgy to me
