This match is also live on BBC Two NI and details is on the Football Commentary Thread, once again sorry for the lack of Radio Ulster/Foyle posts because of Uni. My dissertation has been taking a long time and it was finally handed in on Thursday so next season will hopefully have more posts for the radio thread

No BBC Radio Wales/Cymru details for me, as I was sick of hearing endless 'Cardiff are in the Premier League, and that's all that matters' that they were saying last week. I'll be at Wemberlee tomorrow, so Radio Wales/Cymru commentary people should pop up sometime Monday.

So how does that work legally then?

When Fergie fell out with the Beeb, wasn't the TPTB supposed to 'have a word' about his contractual obligations at some point?

    (Did they ever do so?)

Didn't Wolves fall out with BBC WM over something that Tony Butler said years ago?

The Rangers don't have a leg to stand on.

The BBC signed a new deal yesterday to extend their TV and radio deals for the SPL and The Rangers games in the SFL. They can have up to 10 live commentaries - and I'm confident they'll exercise that right next season.

For the cups, if BBC commentators (TV and radio) are denied entry, they're in breach of the rules and can be chucked out.

It's amazing, though, that the source of this throwing toys out the pram was the reporting of a document prepared by The Rangers themselves, and leaked by a current director. And yet it lacked "logic, balance and fairness"...

Anyway, Mr Traynor should be careful. It's not the first time his words and actions have come back to haunt him...

    talkSPORT Live

    Premier League
Fulham v Reading - Mark Tompkins
Norwich City v Aston Villa - Piers Edwards
Swansea City v Manchester City - Alex Crook and Paul Mortimer
Tottenham Hotspur v Southampton - Adam Bridge
West Bromwich Albion v Wigan Athletic - Keith Hall
West Ham United v Newcastle United - Dan Wheeler
Queens Park Rangers v Arsenal - TBA

talkSPORT Live's Queens Park Rangers v Arsenal commentary team was Toby Gilles and Jason Euell. That game and Swansea City v Manchester City from 3pm were talkSPORT Live's featured commentaries on international radio stations.

    Some more details from yesterday...

    Today FM

Michael McMullan presenting Premier League Live with Mark Lawrenson between 2-3pm and Matt Holland from White Hart Lane for Live After Five

    Premier League
Fulham v Reading - Graham Miller
Norwich City v Aston Villa - Ian Beach
Swansea City v Manchester City - Nathan Murphy
Tottenham Hotspur v Southampton - Ron Jones and Matt Holland (3.30pm commentary)
West Bromwich Albion v Wigan Athletic - Alan Tolley
West Ham United v Newcastle United - Mike Lawrence

With the kick-off at White Hart Lane being delayed by half an hour, Today FM took commentary on most of the first 30 minutes from Norwich City v Aston Villa with Ian Beach flying solo. The half-time sequence was as normal.

    BBC WM

WM Sport with Daz Hale from the Amex Stadium and Paul Franks from Carrow Road

    Premier League
Norwich City v Aston Villa - Rob Gurney and Paul Franks (3pm commentary)
West Bromwich Albion v Wigan Athletic - Andrew Dawkins

    Championship
Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers - Tom Marlow
Brighton & Hove Albion v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Mike Taylor and Daz Hale (12.45pm commentary), with Richie Anderson with the Wolves fans at the Amex

    Free Radio 80s

Tom Ross presenting The Goalzone from the Amex Stadium

    Premier League
Norwich City v Aston Villa - Mikey Burrows and Pat Heard (3pm commentary in Birmingham)
West Bromwich Albion v Wigan Athletic - Chris Coles and Tony Brown (3pm commentary in the Black Country and Shropshire)

    Championship
Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers - Nathan Alleyne and Kevan Broadhurst (12.45pm commentary in Birmingham)
Brighton & Hove Albion v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Tom Ross and Mel Eves (12.45pm commentary in the Black Country and Shropshire), with Steve Hermon with the Wolves fans at the Amex

I don't think either BBC WM or Free Radio 80s sent reporters to the other games in the Champions relegation battle affecting Wolves.

Barry Hawkins v Ronnie O'Sullivan - Elliot Cook

    talkSPORT Live

    Premier League

Manchester United v Chelsea - Phil Blacker and Alvin Martin

    Newstalk 106-108FM

Joe Molloy presented Newstalk Sport Sunday

    Premier League
Liverpool v Everton - Connor Morris and Alan Mathews (1.30pm commentary)
Manchester United v Chelsea - Adam Summerton and Gary Breen (4pm commentary)

Hurling: Allianz Hurling League Division One Final
Kilkenny v Tipperary - Diarmuid Lyng (studio based updates)

Yesterday, Newstalk Sport Saturday was presented by Ger Gilroy and Kenny Cunningham with Adrian Barry reading the sports bulletins. The programme took IRN's Premier League reporters from the 3pm (and 3.30pm) games as detailed in Ian's earlier post, although to correct one detail it was Andrew Cheal reporting on Tottenham Hotspur v Southampton rather than John Southall.

talkSPORT have been giving a good airing to an audio highlights montage of all of the key moments from the final day in the Championship season, which I've heard a few times now. I can't help but be struck by how well both Graham(e)'s, Courtney and Lloyd, covered the two matches that were key to the automatic promotion race. Ian Danter also did a great job at Palace v Peterborough, likewise Geoff Peters at the East Midlands derby.

Graham Courtney in particular was superb at Hull v Cardiff - listening to him describing the penalties at either end during that dramatic finish makes me think what a good commentator he must have been in his days covering Newcastle United for Metro Radio back in the 1990s. I'd like him to be given the chance to commentate on talkSPORT one of these days, he's been with the station for about ten years now but I don't think he's ever had the chance to do a full commentary for them.

I didn't hear 5Lives but many people have commented that it was also excellent.

On Sunday 5Live have a 3pm game and the 2nd half of Man Utd vs Swansea. I imagine the 3pm game is taken from the Saturday 3pm package as its basically a Saturday round.

I'd imagine they'll describe the lifting of the PL trophy at Old Trafford. Do we think TS might go across for this too?

    Monday 6th May - talkSPORT

Hawksbee & Jacobs followed by Drive Time with Adrian Durham and Darren Gough and then Mark Saggers presenting Kick Off: Monday Night Feist Night alongside Stan Collymore

    Premier League
Sunderland v Stoke City - Graham Courtney

League One Play-Off Semi-Finals Second Leg
Yeovil Town v Sheffield United - Alex Crook
Brentford v Swindon Town - Ian Abrahams

    World Snooker Championship Final 2013
Barry Hawkins v Ronnie O'Sullivan - Mike Bovill (afternoon session) and Elliot Cook (evening session)

For the first day of the final, it was Elliot Cook reporting on the afternoon session and Toby Gilles updating the evening session.

    talkSPORT Live

    Premier League
Sunderland v Stoke City - John Anderson and Matt Lawrence

In answer to Col's question in #2395, I fully expect talkSPORT to carry the Premier League title presentation live either during a slightly-extended Call Collymore or The Press Pass on Sunday. I imagine their Manchester-based football correspondent (and Manchester United fan) Dom McGuinness will be their reporter at Manchester United v Swansea City and thus the man to describe it.

Despite not having the commentary rights to any of the most recent title-clinching/presentation games, talkSPORT have broadcast commentary (or sorts) on the trophy being lifted in recent past seasons: Sam Matterface did at Manchester City on the final day last year, Dom McGuinness did the last time Manchester United won it in 2011 and Ian Abrahams did when Chelsea clinched it in 2010.

It'll be interesting to see if Absolute Radio are able to provide commentary on the presentation and indeed if they even have someone at Manchester United v Swansea City. I'm expecting them to be providing commentary on a Sunday 3pm kick-off, as they're planning to flip their Saturday and Sunday afternoon schedules at the weekend. Ian Wright's phone-in will be on-air between 5-7pm so they will be broadcasting football coverage at the time the trophy is raised. I think they have broadcast commentary on the presentation in the past, but when it has been decided on the final day and they have had a secondary team at the first pick match. Absolute don't have the reporting access that talkSPORT and Radio 5 Live do, so this might not be possible in this instance.
