Although people are mentioning affairs, I feel to point out that this may be true but the relationships have survived them which is surely the point the OP is trying to make, these marriages are enduring: divorce isn't treated as a first option, it's a last resort to some.
Sorry but there were affairs involved. Paul Newman had had affairs throughout their marriage, which isn't a surprise as he had an affair with Joanne before leaving his wife for her.
Yes indeed........ I do think these statistics dont quite reflect bliss in all cases. I would venture a proportion of these very long term showbiz marriages are "lavender" , and another proportion are open marriages.
Thats not to be totally cynical and not acknowledge that of course in the middle of all that, there has to be another percentage that have been very lucky and are blessed to be still very happily married. Of course there are !!

Martin & Shirlie have been married since 1988. I think they met in 1982. I don't know if you got the year from Wiki but his Wiki says 1982 yet hers says 1988 and I think 1988 sounds about right.

He was only 21 when he married her, too.
With the exception of the first one I wouldnt say these were all that happy. Just my opinion of course
