    Looks quite posh!

Interesting stuff on Iain Dale's blog.

Next Thursday at 7pm I’m hosting a new hour long segment on my LBC drivetime show called The LBC Parliament. Each week we’ll be having three panellists in the studio from across the political spectrum – not always politicians – and they’ll be taking questions from our listeners. On the first show we’ve got Polly Toynbee, John Redwood and Charlie Falconer followed the week after by Lynne Featherstone, Charles Clarke and Peter Sissons. Future panellists include Hilary Devey, Melanie Phillips, Sir Christopher Meyer, Jeremy Hunt, Neil Hamilton, Lord Levy and a whole host more

Should be interesting. I wish LBC would switch Iain to the 10am-1pm slot.

The mugs were sold if you went to one of his 'Bitch is Back' shows. I was a mug and bought one. :o Not sure if I still have it though.

Still got mine - Think it was a fiver. Not to be put in the microwave as the china becomes scalding hot :o.

The man is put on as a sop to the left , but is embarrassingly fake and poor IMHO.

Why do believe Mr Lamb is a fake? Do you have personal knowledge of the man on which to base this accusation, and do you consider every LBC presenter, left or right leaning, to be equally spurious?
Like it or not, the current LBC set up for its main presenters is for them to take a position on current affairs, and for the part-time fill-ins to adopt a more "apolitical" stance.
Well Chinchin, you may be happier with the likes of Blandrew Castle and Ian Payntdrying 24/7, but I suspect the jettisoning of its opinionated "personalities" would prove to be a disaster for the station.
A fair allocation of airtime for left and right is what is needed imho.

Yeah great. 6 hours of uninterrupted Tory support. Woopee do. Biffa Dale might benefit more by promoting his business as well in that slot - an added bonus.
We could keep Hartley- Brewer, have Gaunty at drivetime and Charlie Wolf in Basher Dale's old slot. Then all we'd need is recordings of Thatcher's speeches overnight and it would be back to the Murdoch stooge again. The Bullingdon Boys would love it.

I quite like LL, he is doing very well for some one not known for presenting. Says what he thinks nothing wrong in that. I find AC a bit dull.

As I've said before, I don't give a stuff what a presenter's politics are so long as they are articulate, interesting and willing to engage the callers in discussion. I judge them by their abilities as a presenter, not where they put their cross on the ballot paper.

    Morning all. :)

    Good Morning

Difficult not to on a news station but they could venture inside the papers, away from the front pages. All human life is there, as the defunct NOTW used to say.

Whenever I've heard him Larry Lamb's delivery is a bit painful to listen to, though. It isn't what you can call articulate or flowing, which on radio is a big plus.

A rather disturbing statement from Blandrew Castle this morning when speaking to his newspaper reviewer - "Boris Johnson is a big friend of LBC. We've got to be careful what we say about him."

Well he does seem rather personalbe , and expect to be quizzed about your location "by the chip shop oh I know it" which does build a rapport with the caller.. Not really pro or anti.

The 'love in of Johnson' was laid bare last week when LBC were in China with him...I find Johnson annoying and thankfully most of what he says does not really happen:eek:...LBC are in odd places with having Clegg and Co as almost presenters..You actually wonder if Clegg has nothing to do because how many other cabinet members would commit to a weekly phone in?...I love it that EdMiliband won't even bother to speak to NF..drives him nuts!

Says it all, really, doesn't it.

Boris Johnson's record is so dodgy when you scratch the surface, but all the major media leave him alone, because he's in their party. Compare this to the treatment of, and blatant lies that are told and perpetuated about, others. There's no balance.

That's good to hear. Let's hope it continues. I am intrigued to see what will happen as Boris gets closer to the 'big prize' and whether the media will finally put him under some kind of scrutiny or not.

He does lots of padding for time to fill up the show as it's not very full on.

The thing is, he's trying desperately to copy Anthony Davis style of broadcasting.

:pI believe NF will drop Johnson when it looks like the Mayor has fallen out of public favour...Johnson will come unstuck within the next year and all the cheer leaders will realise just how stupid they have been to just all follow suit laughing at his comedy routine...LBC take note...:o

All the more reason to have him on. There's nothing Ferrari relishes as much as a spot of politician baiting, regardless of their leanings. The deeper the doodoo, the more he enjoys it.
