Apologies to those who've already used it, but my least favourite word at the moment is "Meh!". Horrible expression.

`Disgusting`, it is overused for trivial situations, and I hate anyone who uses it.

    'Hate', it's disgusting.

Random - used by people who seem to have no idea what it actually means.

"Enjoy", as someone lays my plate of food down in front of me.

Delivered in the same smug tone as someone would say "voila" when presenting a magnificent gastronomic delight at a feast!

Not really fitting for a plate of fried-haddock and chips in Wetherspoon's.

Seemingly said by every server in every pub, hotel and restaurant that I visit.

I presume that it hasn't reached the higher-class establishments, but I can't afford to eat in them, so I'll never know.

I'm sure it's an Americanism and it pisses me right off.

Either add the two simple words "your meal" or STFU.

'YES', I live in Scotland by the way and it's not a good word at the moment.

:D Lol. But it is UNBEARABLE on facebook at the moment. You would think the yes campaign was about to get 100% of the vote: I have never seen anyone say a word for Better Together. And they are so belligerent and persistent. I don't like blocking people, but there are a couple of them who are one 'this proves that the English government are planning to destroy Scotland' post away from it. >:(

The usual suspects for an intelligence-free post on DS: "PC", "sky fairy" "flying spaghetti monster" (sorry, three words), Bliar, feminazi....

When people say "raff" instead of R A F. It sounds very lazy and disrespectful.
I've only heard the word "raff" used by moustached actors in old black and white films about the daring exploits of the RAF during the war.

    Chillax
    Yolo
    Facepalm
    Staycation
My bad (two words I know, but I can't stand that expression)
    Awesome
    Selfie
    Server
    Bling
Yummy mummy (again two words, but this phrase irritates me)
    Slummy mummy (as above :D)
    Doughnut written as donut
Adding 'much' when you reply to someone as in 'Jealous much?' or 'Generalising much?'

    >:(

I'm sure there are a few more, but I could be here all day :D

For some reason, I hate the word "before" used at the end of a question, when it's not appropriate.

Even more annoying, somebody else posts "before what?" before I get the chance to.

Yes, yes, YES! I also detest the use of cupcake for what has always been known as a fairy cake in our house.

It will always be a fairy cake to me.

The whole "cupcake" nonsense seemed to start when the characters in that God-awful Sex and the City became seen as something to emulate. Just yet another obsession I do not understand.

I hate cupcake too. They've always been buns to me! Even fairy cake is a bridge too far :D

    Though (or 'tho')

It now seems to have been reappropriated to simply add emphasis or something. Maybe someone can describe it better than me. It drives me mad when I see it!

    Legoland.

After 36 hours at L*g*l*nd, I've come home in a cultural ambulance and am sipping a fine white and listening to Netrebko's performance of Puccini's "Cuando men vo."
