They might be going down the recon route with stories like Power, I hope they do cos that could be promising. Maybe they could throw in some extra cheap animation to spice up the recon a bit ;)

thanks to everybody who has seen this! I do think the second attempt was more true to the original! Also, when they have released all special editions, and animated all episodes with 1 or 2 episodes missing, why not just animate episodes like power of the daleks? I suppose they will, we will just have to wait though.

Dan pretty much says its too costly to do power but he isnt against the possibility of stories that animation isnt affordable having some kind of other representation iesoundtracks from audiogo being on dvd with making ofs etc

I thought the animation for The Reign Of Terror wasnt all that bad.. I thought The Invasion was better, but still.... I was Happy with it... Why dont they do the animation like they did for Dreamland? either way I was Happy!! I would buy any animation remake!

    Chaz

Well, I just finished watching Robot for the first time. It was interesting and good. From the Asimovesque robot directives to the "we are smart so we should rule the world" organization, it had some great (warnings and) material. I would have left out the King Kong bit at the end, but overall it was good. It was odd to see Sarah Jane Smith soooo young and so much an ingenue. She seems to mature and grow up quickly once they are off of the Earth; I remember her seeming much older and less innocent in Genesis of the Daleks and that is only three serials later. Oh well, we shall see. :):):)

The animation in the style of dreamland is much more expensive than invasion and isn't available on a DVD budget and it was also broadcasted which would recoup the cost (bbc in the UK have currently zero interest in broadcasting classic who existing or animated ). To point out how small a budget they had reign had about a 5th of the invasion (the budget for invasion was originally for a shalka follow up) so about 12 grand in total for the animated eps of reign

    Side: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/7126%2B3VrvwL._AA1500_.jpg

Looks more professional than the previous covers, not too keen on the pink though...

Looks really nice. The latest covers remind me much more of Andrew Skilleter's old VHS covers. I couldn't believe how bland some of the earliest DVD covers looked, especially the original Remembrance of the Daleks and Robots of Death covers.

I received my DVD cases yesterday and I found a great website for Region 1 DVD covers:

    http://art.gmaskew.com/simonh/r1index.htm

I printed out the covers, put them in the DVD cases and transferred the Loose Cannon reproduction discs. They look awesome. :) I can't wait to replace them all with the real thing as they (hopefully) are all animated. :)

Wow, thanks. Those are better than the ones that I used. But I don't know if I want to change all of the covers. :(

It took me six hours to do them the first time. I will bookmark this page and think about it. :)

Amazon has series 7 part 2 down as being released on 20th May, which is 2 days after 7.8's broadcast, assuming series 7.2 stays as 8 episodes starting on 30th March.

Gonna cause a fuss if copies turn up early!

    News from Whovention in Australia

Tenth Planet is a 2 disk release and the regeneration is animated
An announcement on the Ice Warriors will be made soon on doctorwho.tv
Missing parts of the Crusaders are not on the list at the moment but they wouldn't rule it out
If they had an unlimited budget they would love to restore the Enemy of the World
