Would really like to know what happened to William Puttock, who seems to have given up acting after this. Have seen a couple of sites mention that he lives in a council flat and is a dustman in Ealing but I think it's a wind up.
"Both Caroline and Charlie repeatedly attempt to find love elsewhere. For years denying their blossoming feelings for one another, they lead the viewer on a will-they-won't-they chase lasting until the end of the sixth series. .............
So they made six series based on only two plotlines:
Plot A - she talked to another man, he got jealous;
Plot B - he talked to another woman, she got jealous.
My wife liked it, but I found it virtually the same week after week.
Who's the boss had almost two hundred episodes, the upper hand only eighty odd, so why did they choose to use original material for the final series when all the previous series were re worked versions of who's the boss.
Used to watch The Upper Hand with my Mum when I was a kid, we re watched it when it was shown on Granada Plus (before ITV scrapped it for the inferior ITV 3), it was a good sitcom
Only the great British public know the answer to that. There are many terrible programmes in my opinion that have great audience figures, BGT, Eastenders,. Having great viewing figures is no indication that a programme for example is funny
Interesting that ITV can afford to give their old sitcoms an afternoon run yet the beeb sits on good stuff like 2.4 Children - Dear John - Sorry - Ever Decreasing Circles - Hi De Hi - Etc.
I actually quite liked this series remember when it used to be on in the 90's i have since collected it all on DVD. I was just wondering does anyone remember or ever hear that Joe McGann was supposed to be having an affair with Diana Weston at the time whether it was true or false?

I remember noticing that! It was very similar to Knots Landing's slower theme tune!
The show was cheesy, but I did enjoy it.

It was actually made by Central Television, I still remember their ident appearing at the end.
Yes she certainly did.
It was very twee and unbearable to watch.
How it lasted so long is bewildering but then Eastenders keeps on being made too.
All down to individual choice
