Jessie, by a country mile. I wasn't a huge Jessie fan on IDA, but this was outstanding. And if I hadn't known the song I would think it had been written for her.
Sarah. I think this is where experience counts. Last night Stephanie looked like she hated the song choice and didn't know what to with it. Sarah still delivered an excellent performance.
I'm torn with this one. I love Jessica's and Rachel's, Jessica's is nearer to how it should be sung in Cabaret but Rachel answered all the judges criticsms with her. so a tie between those two.
New to this forum, although was a big contributor when Maria was on and have watched all these shows I would like to make one general comment (forgive me if its been noted elsewhere).
Watching the "Dorothy's" I've definitely noticed how each Dorothy are focusing more on the diction more so than in previous series. I'm not sure if it is an improvement in the sound system, or if its a conscious effort because of how Andrew has condemned bad diction and a bad accent in previous shows.
I think they've generally become "better" because of watching previous shows, although I think this has also left them generally not connecting with the audience so much as the personality and "own stamp" on things is lacking (compared to previous shows).
The angry bit:p Jessie was such a stiff actress but, it worked so well during that. Andrew's face said it all.
I think if somebody hadn't seen Jessie's version, Lauren's version would have been brilliant but like you said, to me it was just a great vocal and that's all.
I wanted Connie and Jodie to win and was very pleased when they did. I loved Helena too. However I think that as a group of 11, the Dorothy's have been the best selection of quality singers.
The Dorothy panel has been the best ever too for constructive critisism and kindly encouragement.
I didn't like Denise Van Outen and John Barrowman as judges because they seemed to judge on the basis of their favourites and not on each individual performance of the night.

In fairness, all judging panels fall victim to having 'favourites'. JB and DVO were no worse than any other judges in that respect.
For me, the 'best' panel were the ADWD panel (JB, DVO, Bill Kenwright and Zoe Tyler). They were always enthusiastic and got into the spirit of the thing, which, sadly, the OTR panel don't seem to do. Sheila looks uncomfortable a lot of the time, while Charlotte looks bored. It's good that the OTR panel know their stuff, but a sense of humour injection wouldn't go amiss. It is possible to be knowledgable and entertaining at the same time.
I think the Dorothys in general have much more interesting/pleasant singing voices.
Stephanie's "Nobody Does It Better" for example, sounds so, so much better than the other one in my opinion. Even Bojangles, Sarah may have acted the song more literally, but I still think Stephanie's voice was much more beautiful.
I find thats the general trend with all of them -- the others have been more seasoned actors, but the Dorothys sound better.

Something has happened to the sound. The band is less overwhelming than it often is on many shows. The mikes may be better as well. They sound clearer and, on the other side of the equation, the girls haven't had the problem the Marias and some Nancy's had not hearing their music - or at least no one has said thats an issue.

Good point. I noticed that especially in the Steph/Stephanie sing-off. They were very carefully enunciating each word and pronouncing all the final consonants, which, while it's probably 'correct', means they lose a bit of spontaneity.

I know, charlotte especialy seems to have a face like fizz the whole time. Her eyes look like she wants to say, "hmmm, who's this bitch, and why should I care..." lol
And sometimes John has a bit of a, WTF expression. horrified.
Diamonds: Wasn't keen on either (thought it was one of Connie's weaker performances and Steph had some probems with the low notes). On balance, I'd give it to Steph.
TMTGA: Jessie, easily. Lauren is my fave in this series but Jessie was incredible in this. For me, it was the performance of the series.
Bojangles: Sarah, though it wasn't my fave song of hers.
Crikey, I'd forgotten all my Marias except for Connie (who ran away with the competition) and Aoife (whom we saw play Maria at the London Palladium!). I'd especially forgotten Belinda and her operatic soprano.

Steph, to me she's a better singer, dancer and actress than Connie

Josephs by a mile. Although I wasn't a huge fan of Lee in that one, Craig really upped his game, and Daniel was stunning, a modern day Gene Kelly.
