Sweden were unlucky, weren't they? Played well in all three matches but somehow are on the flight home.
They weren't brilliant v Ukraine but overall yes I'd agree they were better than it looks on paper.

How can it be more serious than a goal being incorrectly given for offside

I would have them as exactly the same in importance.

I bet if England had been eliminated tonight through a Rooney goal being disallowed, we wouldn't be hearing the same thing from the ITV panel.....I can see how the offside was missed, as it happened earlier in the run up to the goal and was not the final through ball.

Oh well they may take the goal of the tournament with them . That was a fantastic goal by Ibrahimovich.

This probably the best passing English side I've seen. Certainly the most comfortable on the ball and yet the performances are coming in for a lot of criticism. When are people going to wake up and realise we've improved from the last world cup and have almost moved on from the Lampard generation.

The Ukraine used the long ball more than England and lost. England passed the ball well.

Rather someone have enthusiastic patriotism than your desperate and rabid hatred.

Not hatred just stating they arent very good its a shame as i used to like england then after 2002 i went right off em and the nobs in the team nowadays. I honestly don't buy the hype.

It's all nonsense about 'overpaid prima donnas', the most meaningless whining in current rotation.

Referring to people enjoying England success (oh, how dare they) as a charade pretty much seals it.

I'd put England at 8's 10's. Around there. Could sneak a semi. If they do, it'll be a job very well done by the manager.

It's already job well done by the manager. This is more than I expected coming into the tournament. It's also job well done by the FA who picked the right man in Hodgson over the tabloid media's choice.

But there's barely been any hype.
