So patronising and really does come across as them calling their followers "the little people".
Horrendous. I can't believe their fans actually buy into this sort of crap.
I agree with you - I think it's patronising esp when 'little' is put before their name. The celebs probably don't even realise it is patronising; they think it's a cute way of having a little unity in their fanbase (which I can see too).
I agree. It's so cringeworthy. Some of them are pretty good. I like the: fighters - Christina Aguilera, and the underdogs - P!nk, because that's (in a way) motivational rather than enslaving but the rest seem derogatory. Calling someone your soldier or navy or ritabots (wtf?!) is screaming out "attack whoever attacks me and follow my orders."
And I can't stand Conor Maynard and his Mayniacs. I was following him well before his first single was out and he had great potential but all of his songs are Justin Timberlake rip-offs about partying and being a womanizer, and his fans say "OMG UR SOOO GUD I LUV UR SONG," and they are all tween girls, so basically encouraging men to cheat on them and use them for sex. And a lot of them support the cheesy "girl power" thing at the same time so I'm just sitting here thinking WTF MAKE UP YOUR MIND IDIOTS
It was fine when people did it early on because it was original back then. Then everyone jumped on the bandwagon. I wish that bandwagon would crash and burn sometime soon..
He's only had one (s)hit single so far. Is there really such a big following already? Pfft. It sounds more like he's telling his fans to refer to themselves as that to make him sound more popular than he is.

Yes this is a marketing ploy now, didn't you know?:D It gives a group identity, like belonging to a tribe. Psychologically it locks them in together and bonds them to their chosen one. Obviously all undermined and engineered by the big boys of the record company for monetary gain but don't dwell on that as it might spoil the illusion

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think she calls them 'Barbz' and the male fans 'KenBarbz'.
I'm sure I heard once that the fans call themselves Slaves...
I always thought that this was a recent thing. I take it the fans have decided to call themselves these names
I cringe at these silly names to be honest

With you both-so cringeworthy.
Ha ha!

But in my experience it is the fans who name themselves and not the artist
This is true.
