I think giving Steve a weekend lot would refresh his show. I think you mentioned TB was a fan before.

How? He'd just be spouting the same old dross on a different day. Even his FB fans seem to be getting fed up with him.

    Morning all. :)

Is Steve forgetting he worked at United Biscuits and saw Penguin biscuits being wrapped in the supermarket's own brand wrappers? I am never fooled by lookalike packaging and tend to go for the generic (value) or own brands anyway.

It's been going on for years. I don't know why it's suddenly in the news. Perhaps people are just getting stupider and can't spot the difference.

For once we are in agreement. Also Steve said the items are not the same quality. Many are identical to the branded items as they are made by the same people and just repackaged such as the Penguins. .

You can spot the difference with the stuff that's not been made by the original manufacturer. Own brand baked beans, for instance; nobody does them like Heinz!

The NF love in with Thatcher continues this morning. Now its the guest list that is been analysed.

I noticed that the early LBC bulletins are leading with a report from London Assembly that night flights into Heathrow should be banned.

I wonder how many presenters will feature this after all LBC is London's Biggest Conversation. I will be pleasantly surprised if it does get a feature.

Has LBC got plans for special coverage of Thatchers funeral? It did do something for the Queens Jubilee river pageant. I expect that nice Mr Dale would be the obvious choice to lead any coverage.

Indeed. Although I prefer Branston as they have a stronger flavour.:p

Yes I believe Steve mentioned that LBC will be covering the funeral.

I don't know why Ferrari is surprised that Neil Kinnock doesn't want to go to Lady Thatcher's funeral, although he might want to check that she's really gone! After he lost the election, they moved into a big house not far from where I live, presumably having given up on Number Ten. He seemed an amiable cove and was a familiar sight in the local shops. He also washed his own car!

Neil is unable to attend as he is already attending a funeral in Wales. Ferris should have done his research.

I was quite appalled by Nick Ferrari's attitude about Neil Kinnock. He's attended a funeral of a personal friend which for most people would take precedent over attending a funeral for an opponent. NF tries to use any opportunity to have a go at Labour politicians but on this one he has just made himself look stupid.

Glad to see you succumbing to off topic triviality! It's so much kinder to the blood pressure. :D

I must say that Co-op Fairtrade tea and chocolate are excellent.

I don't know why there seems to be a general opinion here that Ferrari gives Boris an easy ride. He does nothing but contradict and talk over him.

To be honest, I think that's a recent trend. He's definitely been doing it more over the last month or so. Previously, he came across as a bit of a toady. I've genuinely wondered whether the 'I'm not a Tory!' claims by some (although wouldn't deny they're Conservatives) and criticism of the Coalition has risen in parallel to UKIPs popularity.

Oh dear, some organisation has taken offence at Cameron's use of the word 'mental'. That means, presumabley we can't use phrases such as 'stroke of bad/good luck' or meteorologists talking about 'depressions approaching from.......'. Just where does all this nonsense end?

Do you remember the illness Manic depression? Well that was euphemistically dressed up as Bipolar Disorder - for God's sake.

The world has gone, bonkers, mad, infantile or whatever other word i can use.

Yes the not hypocritical at all Socialist. The man who stood on a manifesto to take the country out of the European Economic Community. Rejected twice by the electorate so then jumped on the gravy train of guess where, Europe. Not just him, but his wife and family A total of £775,000 in wages for Lady Kinnock and £1.85 million for her husband, adding up to £2,625,000.
Allowances for Lady Kinnock’s staff and office costs of £2.9million.
A £64,564 ‘entertainment allowance’ for Lord Kinnock.
A total of five publicly-funded pensions, worth £4.4million, allowing them to retire on £183,000 a year.
A housing allowance that allowed them both to claim accommodation costs although, as a married couple, they lived in the same house in the Belgian capital between 1995 and 2004.

    Yes, what a man

I'm not saying I like him or approve of his hypocracy. After all, wasn't it the republican Mrs Kinnock who refused to curtsy to the Queen and to share the title bestowed on her husband but accepted a life peerage for herself. Their son also has a comfy seat on the EU gravy train.

That's the second endorsement for Branston. I must try them.
